The journey to Godric's Hollow was a long, twisted one. Voldemort had opportunities to make different choices, yet his snake-like eyes were fixed on one goal: a world where magic is might and pure-bloods reign supreme.
But as Lord Voldemort, his ideology is centered around the superiority of “pure-blood” wizards, and his desire to rid the world of Muggle-born wizards and half-bloods like himself. Rowling has acknowledged that Voldemort is similar to Adolf Hitler in this way.
Voldemort wanted the prophecy because it would reveal how to defeat his undoing. Unfortunately, Snape could only relay the half of the prophecy that announced that the end of the Dark Lord would come in the form of a boy born to parents who had thrice defied him as the seventh month dies.
First, Voldemort wanted to rid the wizarding world of any non pure blood wizards. He considered “tainted” blood (muggle blood) to be weaker than magic blood. Second, Voldemort wanted the wizarding world to rule over all the muggles. Kill them, enslave them, and whatever else occurred to him.
J.K. Rowling responds: He affects everyone, but his plan is European domination first. So yes, the Dark Lord ultimately planned to have wizards in power over the entire world, ruling over Muggles openly. Why do you call Voldemort the Dark Lord?
Perhaps Voldemort's biggest mistake was thinking he was invincible. He was extremely arrogant and believed himself to be superior to everyone around him.
...of the Horcrux, wickedest of magical inventions, we shall not speak nor give direction. This is how taboo the topic of Horcruxes was, not that this stopped Voldemort from endeavouring to have seven pieces of his soul, as seven is usually considered to be the most magical number.
Voldemort's weaknesses are arrogance, aforementioned fear of death, and total disregard for things that he does not understand, all of which eventually contribute to his downfall.
The "most faithful servant" is Barty Crouch Jr., who has already been in place at Hogwarts working for Voldemort. The three dead include Evan Rosier, Wilkes, and Regulus Black.
Voldemort fears Dumbledore because he knows Dumbledore is more powerful than him, having known Dumbledore and Grindelwald's duel in 1945, and he had just finished school that time. Voldemort feared suffering the same fate as Grindelwald.
The Horcruxes Left Him Vulnerable & Weak
A second or third chance at life, if you will. Although they did give Voldemort another chance to join the living after his curse against Harry Potter rebounded, they harmed him in the long run.
However, the prophecy went on to say that Voldemort would mark the child as his equal, choosing the boy that he believed would be the most dangerous to him. Dumbledore believes Voldemort chose Harry because Harry was a half-blood, just like Voldemort.
Voldemort can not comprehend love, and so it destroys him to touch Harry because Lily's love for her son runs through Harry's veins and body. ems Harry burnt Quirrell's face when he touched it.
First, Voldemort wanted to rid the wizarding world of any non pure blood wizards. He considered “tainted” blood (muggle blood) to be weaker than magic blood.
His viciousness to Muggle-borns is connected: Riddle may be half-blood, but Muggle-borns can claim no wizarding heritage, therefore to him they are as low as Muggles themselves. Riddle also hates Muggles because they remind him of his childhood and the Muggle father who deserted him.
The initial trauma from his childhood led to the false identity he developed in his teenage years when he decided to rewrite his story and identity. He wanted to rid the world of those who had hurt him, and he'd almost succeeded before the prophecy of Harry's birth stopped and eventually destroyed him.
Besides Dumbledore, he is also the only wizard ever known to be able to apparate silently. Voldemort was also said to fear one wizard alone, Dumbledore.
Voldemort Never Figured Out Snape Was A Spy
He openly despised some of his Death Eaters, even the loyal ones like Luscious Malfoy. However, there were a select few that had his trust, and whom he treated with respect. This included Bellatrix Lestrange and Severus Snape.
Voldemort's greatest fear is death and as a result a boggart takes the form of his own corpse. It is unsurprising that this is Voldemort's biggest fear. After all, he did split his soul up encasing it in various horcruxes just so to keep himself from dying.
His reaction to Bella's death was akin to his reaction at the loss of the Cup, which was when he realised that his own immortality was jeopardised amidst war and his own death could have been near.
Arguably more hated and more dangerous than Voldemort himself, there are many reasons why Dolores Umbridge is the most hated Harry Potter character. Dolores Umbridge was arguably the most evil character in the Harry Potter series, sometimes more so than Lord Voldemort, mainly Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix.
So when Ron said three, it wasn't a mistake. He meant there were three more horcruxes to destroy before being able to destroy the fourth and final piece which was in fact Voldemort himself.
Voldemort intentionally made six Horcruxes, but when he used Avada Kedavra on Harry, he unintentionally created a seventh Horcrux. Instead of dying, Lily's love for Harry created a counter 'curse' known as Sacrificial Protection and saved Harry.
The most likely reason why Lord Voldemort's nose disappeared and he devolved into such an evil-looking creature is that as he dabbled deeper into the Dark Arts, his appearance gradually became as distorted as what remained of his twisted soul.
