Smiling relieves stress
Along with the release of endorphins, your brain will send out signals to slow your breathing and reduce your heart rate, two processes which speed up when you feel stress. By slowing these down, your body will become more relaxed.
The rarest smile type is the complex smile, with only an estimated 2% of the population possessing this smile. This smile is rare because it requires three muscle groups to work simultaneously when smiling.
