If there was a group in the Harry Potter universe that is the exact opposite of the Death Eaters, it would have to be the Order of the Phoenix, led by Albus Dumbledore. The Order of the Phoenix's main goal was to stop Voldemort, and by extension, his Death Eaters, at all costs.
Death Eaters have also attacked pure-bloods who oppose them. Examples of this are pure-blooded members of the Order of the Phoenix such as Sirius Black, the Prewett brothers, who were murdered because of their loyalties, and the entire Weasley family.
Nearly all of those recruited were from Slytherin House. However there may have been recruits from Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and even from foreign schools within the ranks as well. There were presumably no Hufflepuff Death Eaters (Hufflepuff House boasted of being the only house never to produce any Dark Wizards).
As pure-bloods are indeed very rare, it seems likely that at least some of the Death Eaters would be half-bloods. “The Death Eaters can't all be pure-blood, there aren't enough pure-blood wizards left,' said Hermione stubbornly.
So he's left with this lightning bolt-shaped scar on his forehead and the curse rebounded upon the evil wizard, who has been in hiding ever since." In the second book, Rowling establishes that Voldemort hates non-pure-blood wizards, despite being a half-blood himself.
The Longbottoms
Neville comes from a long-line of pure-blood wizards, although we don't know as much about the individuals as we do with some other wizarding families. What we do know is that both of Neville's parents were pure-blood, as was his gran, Augusta.
In the world of Harry Potter as we know it, there are no recorded instances of a person who was sorted into Hufflepuff ever becoming a Death Eater, or any other kind of Dark Wizard for that matter.
Worst: Lucius Malfoy
Lucius Malfoy is pretty clearly a bad person, but he's a perfect example of how banal cruelty and evilness can be. Lucius likes to control, humiliate, and cause people pain, but he's also too weak and self-absorbed to really become one of the evil "greats," so to speak.
As was probably expected, Peter Pettigrew takes first place as the evilest Gryffindor, having betrayed some of his best friends to a mass murderer and framed another one for their murder. Peter is the proof that evil can truly come from any house, and is not limited to those from Slytherin.
The most likely reason why Lord Voldemort's nose disappeared and he devolved into such an evil-looking creature is that as he dabbled deeper into the Dark Arts, his appearance gradually became as distorted as what remained of his twisted soul.
Winner: Snape
The kind of versatility in magical abilities that Snape displayed was almost around the level of Albus Dumbledore and Voldemort, making him easily more powerful than the average wizard and even the members of the Order of the Phoenix and the Death Eaters.
Bellatrix was the first female Death Eater introduced in the books. Bellatrix had a fanatic obsession with the Dark Lord although she was clearly fearful of his magical abilities and absolute power over his forces.
There are a total of 31 Death Eaters who have been named, although only two of them are women.
Dementors are dark creatures that consume human happiness, creating an ambiance of coldness, darkness, misery and despair. Because of their power to drain happiness and hope from humans, they have been set the duty of being guards at Azkaban, where they prevent the prisoners from having the will or ability to escape.
Obviously, women can become Death Eaters. Bellatrix was the Dark Lord's most loyal Death Eater, and she was a woman. Although she had a much lesser role and importance, Alecto Carrow was another female Death Eater.
Isaacs brings up Lucius' disheveled appearance in Deathly Hallows, raising the possibility that the Malfoy patriarch had begun drinking too much. The way Isaacs saw it, Lucius was in a no-win situation. Given everything he'd done, the man no longer had a place on either side of the war.
Having gone through the horrors of the second wizarding war as a Death Eater, Draco abandoned the pure-blood beliefs he was originally devoted to, and grew to become a better person than he was in his youth, growing more tolerant and accepting of the non-pure-bloods of the wizarding world.
Hufflepuff has produced the least amount of Dark wizards
' In fact, the most evil deed we can remember a Hufflepuff ever doing was Ernie Macmillan wearing a 'Potter Stinks' badge.
According to Rowling, Snape is the only Death Eater capable of producing a full Patronus, which, like Lily's, is a doe. Snape is a talented duellist, able to hold off by himself (if only briefly) a group of three Hogwarts professors that included former duelling champion Filius Flitwick.
Over the years, fans have criticized the titular Harry Potter character for allowing The Weasley family to live in poverty even though he had enough wealth to help them. The Weasleys were known in the wizarding world for being of lower economic status, something the Malfoys loved to remind them of.
Why didn't the Potters make the Sacred Twenty-Eight? Potter is a common Muggle surname. Harry's family didn't make the list, according to J.K. Rowling, because 'the anonymous compiler of that supposedly definitive list of pure-bloods suspected that they had sprung from what he considered to be tainted blood'.
