You can also make Moon water during a Gibbous Moon, when the Moon is almost full. One caveat: Never make Moon water during an eclipse—eclipse energy overpowers lunar energy, so it's not a good time to do this kind of work.
So moon water is typically created during a full moon, when the moon shines brightest, but it can be made during any of the moon's phases. Some moon enthusiasts suggest you avoid making moon water during a lunar eclipse, especially if you're doing it for the purpose of harnessing positive energy.
Moon water is made to tap the lunar energy and use it for your well-being. It can be made with any water and during any lunar phase. However, experts claim that moon water made during the full moon or the new moon is most potent.
Moon water is a powerful resource on its own. However, adding crystals to moon water can enhance the potency or amplify intentions.
To start 2023 on an intentional note, make some moon water this Full Moon. The first Full Moon of the year is on January 6th, and it is the Wolf Moon of the year. This Full Moon will be in Cancer, the emotionally heightened water sign, and this is the perfect Full Moon to create moon water.
It is believed that one must drink moon-charged water on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. Since it is believed both moon and water have calming and soothing properties; and form an elemental balance, they can help in overcoming hormonal imbalance.
On the day of a New Moon schedule 30-45 minutes to devote to this practice. I prefer to do my moon rituals at night to fully capture the moons energy. If the weather is nice, it's preferable to be outside. Find a quiet space where you will not be disturbed.
To charge your crystals under the full moon, simply place them in a spot where they'll be exposed to the moon's light for at least several hours, ideally overnight. I like to put them outside, but even a windowsill will work. Leave the crystal outside overnight, from dusk until dawn.
Sunlight and Moonlight Charging
Exposing your crystal for 24 hours to experience both sunlight and moonlight is ideal and can generate the most energy.
After you create your Moon water, you can drink it to absorb the energy back into yourself, or you can pour it in a bath and add herbs that correspond to what you're manifesting (like roses for love, mint for money, or eucalyptus for cleansing and healing).
That kind of powerful and destabilizing energy is not what you want to invite into your manifestation rituals or charge your crystals with. Instead, eclipses are much better for sitting back, processing the shifts, and allowing the universe to do its thing without trying to intervene.
Imagine or simply feel that your intention is being transferred into each atom of the water. When you feel like the intention is set into your water, take a deep breath in and take your first drink. Swallow, and allow yourself to feel the message of your intention being carried into every cell in your body.
The full moon is the perfect time to pick up some crystals, set some intentions, and connect with the energy of the moon. Specifically, a full moon is the time to release things that no longer suit you.

"If you don't live near fresh water, tap water or bottled water will also work. If you are planning on making consumable moon water, I recommend using tap, filtered, or bottled water."
It is believed that just after the new Moon, on the third crescent day, of the new cycle towards the full Moon is the best time to set an intention. The best advice is to start small like a ripple on the surface of the ocean and carry it forward everyday incrementally.
Because the full Moon is all about completion—cleansing, releasing, and removing what no longer works for you—this is the best time to write down your deepest inner thoughts and then release all that spent energy by watching it burn up (safely, of course).
What you will need for your new moon ritual: Smudge stick – sage, palo santo, incense or maybe burning some essential oils (Frankincense is a powerful oil for meditation)
