Verify that an iCloud backup exists in WhatsApp > Settings > Chats > Chat Backup. If you can see when the last backup was performed, delete and reinstall WhatsApp. After verifying your phone number, follow the prompts to restore your chat history.
Local backups will be automatically created every day at 2:00 AM and saved as a file in your phone. If your data isn't stored in the /sdcard/WhatsApp/ folder, you might see "internal storage" or "main storage" folders.
When you use iTunes to store your WhatsApp messages, they will be kept locally on your computer and you can find them on the hard disc. To find this data, you will need to open Library, and then go to Application support, then choose Mobile sync, and Backup.
Step 1: Create a local backup on WhatsApp
Inside WhatsApp, navigate to the three-dot menu on the homepage and go to Settings/ Chat/ Chat Backup and tap on 'Back Up'.
Open WhatsApp. Tap More options > Settings > Chats > Chat backup > Back up to Google Drive. Select a backup frequency other than Never. Select the Google account you'd like to back up your chat history to.
All of the iTunes backups are stored in \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\ on Windows 10, 8, 7, or Vista. To find a specific iTunes backup, you can go to the Search bar from the Start menu (Windows 7) or next to the Start button (Windows 10).
Browse Device Backup
In the sidebar, select your device. In the upper toolbar, click Backups. This will open the Backups Window. In the Backups Window, select the backup that you want to browse and click the View button.
iCloud backups include nearly all data and settings stored on your device. iCloud backups don't include: Data that's already stored in iCloud, like Contacts, Calendars, Notes, iCloud Photos, iMessages, Voice Memos, text (SMS) and multimedia (MMS) messages, and Health data.
Messages are not backed up unless you choose to back them up in the WhatsApp app itself. It's important to note the difference between iCloud Backup and iCloud sync. While they both include the name “iCloud” they are completely separate functions, and they don't overlap.
Verify you're signed in with the Apple ID that you use to access iCloud. Verify iCloud Drive is turned on. Go to iPhone Settings > tap your name > iCloud > check that your iCloud Drive is on. Turn iCloud Drive off and back on.
iCloud automatically creates backups of your WhatsApp chats, and these backups aren't protected by WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption. We recommend disabling iCloud backup when you set up end-to-end encrypted backup in WhatsApp. Open Settings. Tap your name > iCloud > Manage Storage >Backups.
Step 1: Take your Android and iPhone devices and connect them to the PC. Launch the MobileTrans application program. Choose the 'WhatsApp Transfer' tool from the toolkit. Step 2: You are under the 'WhatsApp' module now and click 'Transfer WhatsApp messages'.
Open your phone's Settings app. Backup. Under “Backup details,” review what data is backed up on your device.
Note: If you turn off iCloud Backup for a device, any backups stored in iCloud are kept for 180 days before being deleted. You can also use your computer to back up your device. See the Apple Support article How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
You should know that iTunes backup includes most of the local data on your iPhone like photos, messages, contacts,call logs, iPhone settings, local files of apps, Keychain data, etc.
Apps are no longer transferred from devices back into the library, but a device backup will include the private data of each app and a reference to it so that it can be restored from either the local library or directly from the iTunes Store.
As mentioned earlier, only one copy of your current device's backup is saved and constantly overwritten. But there may be old backups from other devices on iCloud that you no longer need, using your storage. To see if this is the case, go to Settings, tap your name, then tap iCloud Storage > Backups.
