LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mo. — Gypsy Rose Blanchard has tied the knot with Louisianan Ryan Scott Anderson despite still serving her 10-year prison sentence. The Livingston County Recorder of Deeds verified the marriage certificate between Blanchard, 30, and Anderson, 36, on July 21, 2022.
Gypsy Rose is currently serving a 10-year sentence at the Chillicothe Correctional Centre in Missouri, and according to prison officials, she will be eligible for parole in 2024.
Lake Charles, LA (KPLC) - Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who in 2015 organized a plan with then boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn to kill her mother, is now married to a man from Lake Charles. She tied the knot in Missouri with Ryan Scott Anderson on June 27.
As for the real Gypsy Rose Blanchard, she pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in 2016 and was ultimately sentenced to 10 years in prison. (Nicholas Godejohn was sentenced to life in prison for first-degree murder.)
Though her 10-year prison term is set to end in 2026, Gypsy will be eligible for parole in December of 2023, according to FOX 4. While serving her sentence, she got married last year to Louisiana resident Ryan Scott Anderson, Springfield, Missouri-based station KOLR reported. She was previously engaged to another man.
When it became clear that Dee Dee would never let the two be together, Gypsy Rose and Godejohn conspired to kill her. Gypsy Rose pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and is serving a life sentence, while Godejohn was convicted of first-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison.
Gypsy never thought she was going to get caught
She was also seen expressing immediate regret at the murder of her mother, and was desperately attempting to cover her up.
"It is possible that Gypsy Rose presents with puberphonia (high-pitched voice after birth), a class of psychogenic voice disorders," says Jayne Latz, an executive communication coach and president and founder of Corporate Speech Solutions.
When Gypsy was 14, she saw a neurologist in Missouri who came to believe she was a victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy. However, this doctor never reported her case to authorities. In later interviews, he stated his belief that there wasn't enough evidence to act.

She was 19 at the time (though she and her mother claimed she was 15) and the man was 35. He took Gypsy back to his hotel room, but Dee Dee found them and presented paperwork stating that Gypsy was a minor.
But if you think that watching The Act actually helps support Gypsy in real life, you'd be wrong. When you buy someone's life story rights to turn their experiences into a movie, TV show, or book, money is exchanged. But in the case of the Hulu show, that isn't what happened.
After years of abuse from her mother, experts believed she suffered from Munchausen syndrome by proxy, Gypsy was forced to act like she was a sickly, wheelchair-bound child to gain attention and charity from local organizations.
When people saw the post, some of Dee Dee's concerned neighbors alerted authorities, who then found her body on June 14, 2015. Law enforcement traced the Facebook message to Godejohn's home the next day and arrested Gypsy and Godejohn in connection with the murder.
Dee Dee's ex-husband and Gypsy's father Rod Blanchard told Buzzfeed that he paid Dee Dee $1200 in child support every month even after Gypsy turned 18 because he believed she still needed full-time care. “There was never a question whether or not I was going to stop paying,” Rod said.
When Gypsy was a child, her mom Dee Dee told her that she suffered from leukemia and a host of other health issues. Gypsy revealed in a 20/20 interview that the only medical condition she actually has is a lazy eye.
According to her testimony at Nick's trial, Gypsy hoped that Dee Dee and her boyfriend would hit it off, and she'd allow the pair to date. Although he traveled from Big Bend, Wisconsin, to Springfield, Missouri, the meetup didn't go as planned, but she did sneak off to have sex with him in the handicap bathroom.
Prosecutors cut a deal with Gypsy, however, because of the horrific abuse she suffered at the hands of her mother. In exchange for pleading guilty to second-degree murder, Gypsy was sentenced to the minimum of 10 years in prison.
Hulu's "The Act" is based on Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who is currently serving a 10-year sentence in a Missouri prison. Gypsy will be eligible for parole in 2023, when she's 32 years old. She is currently 27, though her real age was actually a mystery to her for most of her life—her mom Dee Dee kept it a secret from her.
