Iron-Man. Of course, this is the man who is actually able to defeat Thanos in the end, sacrificing himself in order to kill him. He loses his own life to do that, proving just how unselfish he is at his core, with Iron-Man's power and strength of character being the overwhelming power for him.

His powers are off the charts and comparable to a god so he is easily stronger than Thanos. Fighting the Mad Titan without the Gauntlet would easily make him a victor, but he may be just as strong or stronger even with the Gauntlet thrown into the mix.

Superman is vastly more powerful and skilled than Thanos. It wouldn't take him long to realize how dangerous the Mad Titan was and once he did, he'd take the kid gloves off.

He ranks above Thor here because he's technically the stronger of the two. In fact, he is considered by many authorities to be the physically strongest character Marvel has ever created. According to legend, he replaced Atlas in holding the sky on his shoulders.
The winner of this fight would be Thanos based on his superior brute strength, and raw powers. However, if Thor uses some clever strategies, he could defeat the villain, especially since he has access to more powerful weapons and techniques.
3. Thor. Blessed with the powers and long life of a god, Thor was undoubtedly the most powerful member of the initial version of the Avengers. Not only can he fly and transport between worlds, but he was also the only one capable of taking down Thanos, even after he had assembled all six Infinity Stones.
