For the third straight year, the World Rice Conference has voted Cambodian rice as the world's best. This year Cambodia shares the award with Thailand.
Nepal is one of the top basmati rice-producing countries in the world. It is grown in the foothills of the Himalayas, and Nepal produces some of the highest quality rice in the world. Nepal produces around 4 million tons of rice each year. The majority of this rice is exported to other countries.

Globally, the top rice-producing country is China, followed by India.
India is currently ahead of Pakistan and China as the largest Basmati rice-producing country, and is globally recognised as having the most diverse varieties and best-quality Basmati rice.
Although 'black rice' is considered to be the most expensive rice in India, which costs around Rs 300 per kg, but you will be surprised to know that the cost of the world's most expensive rice is three-four times more than this. This rice is called Hasavi rice (Hesawi Rice), which is found in Saudi Arabia.
