That number represents your cup size. For less than one inch you are a AA cup, for one inch you are an A cup, for two inches you are a B cup, for three inches you are C cup, for four inches you are a D cup and for five inches you are a DD cup.

For some reason, we have been brainwashed into thinking that boob sizes go from A-DD, DD being the biggest boob/bra size. DD is actually at the lower end of the scale, there is still E, F, FF, G, GG, H, HH, J, JJ, and K cup above that.

The further down the alphabet a letter is, the larger the cup volume, starting with AA as the smallest.
If C cups are the midpoint or medium breast size indicator on the cup size scale, then D cups mark the transition towards larger breasts and DD cups are the exact opposite of A cups.
When our participants were asked what their ideal breast size would be, the C cup was considered the most popular, with 39% choosing it above other sizes. In second place, was the D cup, which was the first choice of 29% of people who completed our survey.
Australian bra sizes typically range for band sizes from 8 (25-27 inches) to 26 (43-45 inches).
Globally, a natural female breast has an average size somewhere between a large "A" and a smaller "B" in the US size system. According to European or Australian classifications, this would be a "B".
All you need to do is a little bra math: Subtract your band size from your bust measurement to find your cup size. “The difference in inches corresponds to your cup size,” says Iserlis. For example, if your bust measures 37 inches, and your band size is 34, the difference will be 3.
As we've already discussed, your cup size directly related to your band size as it is the difference between the size of your breasts and your rib cage. If you're a D cup, that means that your bust is 4 inches bigger than your rib cage.
When it comes to bra sizes for 13-year-old girls, a 34C would be considered above average. However, it's important to keep in mind that everyone's body is different and there's no "perfect" or "ideal" size when it comes to breasts.
Average Cup Size
According to a survey conducted between 1992 and 2013, the average bra size in the U.S. has increased from a 34B to a 34DD, and now just six years later, the average has shot up to a DDD — that's the largest compared to any of the other countries studied.
More generally, men and women prefer bigger cup sizes, namely C, D, and DD. Over six out of ten women (60.4%) said that their ideal bust size is a C cup, compared with just over one in two men (53.6%).
A 34C and a 32D are actually the same size cup size. Do men know this? Do all women know this? A 34C and a 32D are known as "sister sizes" which means that the cup will fit the same amount of breast tissue and the same applies for their other "sister sizes" of a 36B, 38A, 32D, 30DD, 28E.
With standard sizing, you can expect a 32C and a 32D to be bracketed together as a Small, a 34C and a 34D to both be Medium, a 36C and 36D to equate a Large, and so on, up through the fit range.

If the breast tissue is pressing against your armpit, you're wearing a cup size that is too small. The cup should contain the entire width of the breast.

The size 32 is comparatively on the smaller side whereas a C cup is noticeably larger on the scale of bra sizing alphabets.
