This paper deals with the first set of twins, Esau and Jacob, the sons of the patriarch lsaac and his wife Rebekah, and puts forward an answer to the question: what kind of twins were they?
Rebekah: The Mother of Twins (Bible Time)
Rebekah was Isaac's wife and Jacob and Esau's mother.
The Scripture passage does not reveal if God gave her any relief from her pain in that moment, but instead it tells us what God says to her. He tells Rebekah about the division that will arise between her two sons, and that the older will serve the younger.
The prophecy speaks of a day when twin brothers from the blood line of King Callam will be born. One will rise to greatness and embrace the light. The other will rise to greatness and embrace the dark. Worse yet, with the existence of the boys, a powerful and evil wizard of the past will return.
"And when her (Rebekah) days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. And the first came out red, all over like a hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. And after that came his brother out, his hand holding on to Esau's heel – " (Gen 25:24-26).
Rebekah, the wife of Isaac and mother of twins, Esau and Jacob, is described as courteous, trusting, and helpful. Of her two sons, Rebekah favored Jacob so intensely that she deceived Isaac into bestowing his blessing (inheritance) on him.
Remind the children that because families can be together forever, they should love and help their brothers and sisters. Share the following quotation with the children: “Your most important friendships should be with your own brothers and sisters and with your father and mother.
Indeed, Jewish tradition in general elevates her, considering her a righteous woman and even a prophet. As a resourceful trickster, Rebekah serves God and preserves the ancestral lineage.

At one time, when Esau returned from an unsuccessful hunt and was hungry, Jacob bought Esau's birthright (i.e., the rights due him as the eldest son) for some red pottage (soup). When Isaac was dying, Jacob, with Rebekah's help, cheated Esau out of his father's blessing.
This exposition presents Rebekah's preference for Jacob as a consequence of the prophecy that she was given during her pregnancy. The partiality toward Jacob was God's choice when they were still in their mother's womb, and Rebekah merely implemented the divine plan.
Esau's first two wives, Adah and Judith, are described as adulterous and idolatrous. Adah (also called Basemath) is linked with harlotry, as her name is linked with jewelry and perfume. Judith (also called Ohlibamah) is similarly linked by her name to idolatry and is also described as adulterous.
