Black people have the lowest growth rate of hair but the highest eumelanin content. Breakage is increased or faster in this hair type. This group also has smaller hair cuticles than other ethnicities.
African hair has the lowest growth rate. Hair growth rate and hair diameter were reported to be associated with cuticle interscale distance. Hairs with larger cross-sectional area grow faster and have a shorter cuticle interscale distance, and vice versa.
In general, however, the highest rates of male pattern baldness are found among Caucasian men. The second highest rates belong to Afro-Caribbeans. Native Americans, on the other hand, do not struggle much with male pattern baldness. As mentioned, pattern baldness is genetic, that is, hereditary.
Japan, Korea and the Rest of East Asia
East Asians are furthest from the Mediterranean region and also have the lowest rate of baldness which does not seem to be an accident.
Regardless of race, the larger the diameter of the hair fiber, the faster the rate of hair growth. Although there are no differences in the hair-growth cycle among Asian, African, and Caucasian hair subgroups, African hair has been found to grow at a slower rate, likely due to its smaller-diameter fibers.

Almost 80% of male pattern baldness in India is related to testosterone and testosterone derivative DHT issues. Testosterone deficiency leads to hair loss and this kind of hair loss is perhaps the most common type of hair problem one encounters in the country.

Asian hair follicles are round, usually very straight, and strong. While not as dense as its counterparts, the hair is less likely to experience hair loss or breakage. Asian hair is also the fastest growing, at over half an inch per month.
What Ethnicity Has Fine Hair? People of Asian descent typically have fine, straight hair. This hair type is characterized by a lack of volume and can be difficult to style. Fine hair is also prone to damage from heat and chemical treatments.

The reason Asian hair tends to be thicker is that it has around 10 layers of cuticles. Cuticles are the small areas around the inner protein structure of your hair–they are there to protect those proteins.
However, African hair shape is mostly curly (94.9%), with some wavy hair (5.1%) (n = 39).
Genetics. Native Americans, East Asian, Southeast Asian, Southwest Asian, Middle Eastern, Far East Russian, South Asian and Himalayan black-haired people have thicker hair due to the derived EDAR gene allele that is linked to thicker and potentially straighter hair in some parts of Asia, and shovel-shaped incisors.

Middle Eastern hair can have a moderate to low curl pattern, with loose waves or minimal curls. Some individuals may have straight hair, while others may have a slight wave.
The age at which hair begins to turn grey and the increase in grey hair with age appear to be clearly linked to ethnic and geographical origin. At a similar age, subjects of Asian or African descent, who have the darkest hair, have fewer grey hairs than those of Caucasian origin, who have lighter hair tones.
