The middle seat in the final seat is your safest bet

We've determined that the front of the plane is the best place to sit on a plane to feel less turbulence, and most business class and first class seats are at the front.
“If you sit at the front of the aircraft, you are going to experience less turbulence,” the pilot, from Sydney, explained in his viral clip, which has clocked up 137,000 views. “If you're at the back, it's going to be a little bit more bumpy,” he continued.
Grab a seat near the center of the plane, over the wings, or toward the front of the aircraft. These areas are more stable, and you'll notice less turbulence than at the back of the plane.
Usually, it's best to pick a seat toward the front of the plane for several reasons: It's usually quieter, and you can get on and off faster. There's a balance between choosing front/back and window/aisle.
Are small planes less safe than larger? It might seem that way, but there are other contributing factors. "In a nutshell, the size of an airplane is not in any way linked to safety," explains Saj Ahmad, chief analyst at StretegivAero Research.
We found that survival was random in several accidents — those who perished were scattered irregularly between survivors. It's for this reason that the FAA and other airline safety experts say there is no safest seat on the plane.
If you are a nervous flyer, the seats between the wings are best for you. There is less turbulence towards the front and especially between the wings of the plane, since this area is more stable. For the same reason, if you suffer from motion sickness, it would also be better to be seated close to the wings.
Seat Choice
For most commercial airplanes, the seats closest to the front of the plane are the quietest. And although it's not always possible to get a front row seat, anything in front of the wing is preferable to seating behind the wing. The loudest row is just behind the wing where the engines are located.
Which airplanes crash the most? Cessnas and Pipers. In fact, the top 15 aircraft models in total crashes are all made by those two manufacturers – and nine of the top ten are Cessnas. The Cessna 152 was involved in nearly 800 more crashes than any other aircraft.
Safety is the priority for airlines. Airlines are sensitive to passengers' perceptions of safety, having randomly assigned the Boeing 737 Max to routes and times. Historically, Boeing has been considered more reliable and safer than Airbus.
Aircraft age is not a safety factor. However, if the aircraft is older and hasn't been refurbished properly, it may cause flyers some inconvenience such as overheating, faulty air conditioning, or faulty plumbing in the lavatory. More important than an aircraft's age is its history.
By far, the most common cause of small aircraft accidents happens due to pilot error. Many small plane operators are “hobbyist” fliers. They don't fly for a living and, therefore, don't rack up a substantial flight time. Any misjudgment can result in tragedy.
When it comes to the safety of flights, the length of the flight ultimately has little to do with safety. The safety of each flight is based on a variety of different factors, such as the aircraft type, the proficiency of the crew, and weather conditions.

At times like this, pilots will slow to a designated “turbulence penetration speed” to ensure high-speed buffet protection (don't ask) and prevent damage to the airframe. We can also request higher or lower altitudes, or ask for a revised routing.
The New York to London route has sometimes been credited as one the most turbulent in the world. This is attributed to the strong jet stream activity over the North Atlantic during the winter months.
