Sad (Arabic: ص, Ṣād; "The Letter Sad") is the 38th chapter (sūrah) of the Qur'an with 88 verses (āyāt) and 1 sajdah ۩ (38:24).

You should read Surah Kahf and Surah Ar-Rahman for depression. These Surahs help cure depression and get rid of unpleasant thoughts. They can help you relax and find some peace of mind.
Surah Isra, Kahf, Maryam, Taha, Anbiya
All of these stories help with depression and anxiety and help us feel the power and majesty of Allah.
The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: “No person suffers any anxiety or grief and says this supplication, but Allah will take away his sorrow and grief, and give him in their stead joy. Having said that, however, Muslims are not immune to the feeling of grief or depression.
Remember Allah often
Remembering Allah with focus, devotion and dedication is a known cure for the sadness of our hearts. Believers know this from practice and also from the words of Allah in the Quran, where He says: “Those who believe and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah.
"O Allah, I seek refuge in You from severe calamity, from misery to fall upon me, from misfortune in the decree, and from the joys of the enemies."
SURAH AL-FATIHAH IS A CURE FOR THE DISEASES OF THE HEART AND THE BODY. The corruption of intent. These in turn lead to two fatal illnesses: misguidance and anger.
Dua to safeguard from anxiety and depression
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-Ḥuzni wal-'ajazi wal-kasli wal-bukhli wal-jubni wa ḍala'id-dayni wa ghalabatir-rijal.
The Surah Ad-Duha.
It's the surah number 93 with only 11 verses, that have the power to give anyone who reads it hope. No matter what happens Allah will get you out of the situation. Therefore, it is one of the best surahs to read for anxiety.
Dua: Allaahumma rahmataka arjoo falaa takilnee ilaa nafsee tarfata 'ayn. wa aslih lee sha'nee kullah. Laa ilaaha illaa Ant. Translation: O Allah, it is Your mercy that I hope for, so don't leave me in charge of my affairs even for the blinking of an eye.
The reasons that laughing and crying as Almighty Allah was said in quran, “And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep”. There's a lot of difference in crying of a person to another. Some people are crying out of fear and fright and some are weeping in cause of grief and regret.
Don't Let Sadness Overwhelm You
Allah says not to put yourself in that position; meaning you're going to be in the supreme position so long as you're total believers. In other words, these situations come and go, but Allah is constant; you never lost Allah.
There are also some practices in Islam that help Muslims enhance their mental health. These practices include (1) daily prayers, (2) fasting during the month of Ramadan, (3) helping others, and (4) daily reciting of the Holy Quran.
The Messenger of Allah s.a.w. said, "Place your hand where you feel pain and say: 'Bismillah (In the Name of Allah)' three times; and then repeat seven times: 'A'udhu bi'izzatillahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa 'uhadhiru (I seek refuge with Allah and with His Power from the evil that afflicts me and that which I ...
'As'alu Allah al 'azim rabbil 'arshil azim an yashifika. I ask Allah, the Mighty, the Lord of the Mighty Throne, to cure you. (Recommended to repeat seven times.)
Surah Al Fatiha, the opening surah is recommended for bodily and psychological healing.
Additionally, one can recite Surah Al-Falaq (the 113th chapter of the Quran) which begins with “Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind” to protect oneself from all forms of harm and danger. Reciting these prayers regularly will provide protection against any form of danger or harm.
Heart of the Quran is Surah Yasin. The comparison of Surah Yasin with the heart, in this narration, conveys the importance of this Surah.
The Prophet (ﷺ) used to invoke Allah at the time of distress, saying, "La ilaha illal- lahu Al-`Azim, al- Halim, La ilaha illal-lahu Rabbu-s-samawati wal-ard wa Rabbu- l-arsh il-azim."
Lord Jesus, we ask you to give us all around peace in our mind, body, soul and spirit. We want you to heal and remove everything that is causing stress, grief, and sorrow in our lives. Please guide our path through life and make our enemies be at peace with us.
In moments of extreme difficulty, the Prophet's response was to turn to Allah. The manner and extent to which he ﷺ confided in Him, however, is truly Prophetic. The Prophet ﷺ abandoned every facet of his world and turned to his Friend.
If you are depressed because of wealth or health issues, recite Surah Ad-Duha, it is the best remedy to relieve depression. Surah Ad-Duha encourages the focus on life's purpose and the hereafter life. Surah Ad-Duha brings hope for us for the better tomorrow.
