Our study highlights the efficacy of Surah Al-Rehman as a remedy to reduce depression. The Holy Quran intones, "This sacred book is 'shifa' for its followers." Hence, we recommend that researchers should focus on finding remedies for other psychological and physical diseases from Quranic verses.
Surah Ad-Duha was revealed to the Prophet (ﷺ) to provide relief and hope. It was a way to reassure the Prophet (ﷺ) that Allah had not abandoned him. Through this Surah, we too can find relief from anxiety and sorrow.
Dua: Allaahumma rahmataka arjoo falaa takilnee ilaa nafsee tarfata 'ayn. wa aslih lee sha'nee kullah. Laa ilaaha illaa Ant. Translation: O Allah, it is Your mercy that I hope for, so don't leave me in charge of my affairs even for the blinking of an eye.

Some surahs of the Holy Quran are valuable reading during depression and anxiety, as their meanings and messages can help alleviate depression, inshaa Allah. Surah Duha, Surah 93, ma sha Allah. Allah subhana wa ta'ala revealed it at a time when our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam was depressed, to soothe him.
1- Surah Yusuf.
This surah carries a lot of lessons that we can learn from. We can use it to deal with and overcome our life's problems. Allah can make you live a happy life no matter how much you're struggling in your life right now. Allah can take it all away in a moment.
We ponder, glorify, worship Allah and find ways to keep Him our hearts! Surah Duha restores our faith and increase our belief in the greatness and power of Allah. Read it and ponder over its meanings.
There are also some practices in Islam that help Muslims enhance their mental health. These practices include (1) daily prayers, (2) fasting during the month of Ramadan, (3) helping others, and (4) daily reciting of the Holy Quran. When Muslims are praying, they are talking directly to God.

Dua to safeguard from anxiety and depression
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-Ḥuzni wal-'ajazi wal-kasli wal-bukhli wal-jubni wa ḍala'id-dayni wa ghalabatir-rijal.

Ayat al-Kursi is regarded as the greatest verse of Quran according to the hadith. The verse is regarded as one of the most powerful in the Quran because when it is recited, the greatness of God is believed to be confirmed.
There is one particular Ayah in particular that Prophet Muhammad salallahu alaihi wasallam spoke of, that is said to give its reader great benefits in this life and the afterlife – Ayatul Kursi (Surat Al-Baqarah 2:255), also known as the Verse of the Throne.
Similarly, instead of feeling victorious, Elijah felt hopeless, alone and afraid. He had low self-esteem and wanted to die. He wanted to sleep and had to be encouraged to get up and nourish himself. Elijah, a prophet, Biblical hero, and person of faith, was seriously depressed.
This dua is also a remedy for sadness, cowardness, laziness and stinginess and being overpowered by others. Allahumma inni a'oo-zu bika mi-nal-ham-mi wal-hazn, wa a'oo-zu bika mi-nal 'aj-zi wal-ka-sal, wa a'oo-zu bika mi-nal jub-ni wal-bukhl, wa a'oo-zu bika min gaa-la-ba tid-daynee wa khah-rir-ri-jaal.
'A'oothubikalimaatil-laahit-taammaati min ghadhabihiwa 'iqaabihi, washarri 'ibaadihi, wa min hamazaatish-shayaateeniwa 'an yahdhuroon. English Translation: I seek refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, from the evil of His slaves and from the taunts of devils and from their presence.
The Messenger of Allah [SAW] had supplications that he never neglected. He used to say: ' O Allah, I seek refuge with You from worry, grief, incapacity, laziness, miserliness, cowardice, debt, and being overpowered by (other) men.
Higher rates of depression in those lacking a religious affiliation may be due to the absence of social support from a faith community or lack of commitment to a belief system that makes sense of traumatic events and difficult life stressors.
Surah Ar-Rahman.
