In Star Wars Legends and Canon,
In canon, there are only two characters more powerful than Darth Vader: Luke and Yoda. In Legends, there are too many to count.
Vader, the only power who overrules him is papa Palpatine.
Yoda will most likely win in a fight against Darth Vader because he is more skilled with a lightsaber and has the experience and feats that allow him to trim whatever size and strength advantage Darth Vader has over him. In fact, Yoda nearly defeated Palpatine, something that Vader could never do.
Infil'a put up a fierce fight against Vader, almost killing him by throwing the already damaged Sith Lord off of a cliff. Despite severe damage to his suit, Vader survived the fall, and repaired himself with parts from Infil'a's droid, Arex.
Master Yoda has risen above all others to claim the top spot as the most powerful Jedi of all time and the true chosen one according to IGN's audience. He won pretty handily as well, as he was victorious in 89,756 of his 95,243 battles and had a win percentage of 94.2%.
The deaths of Sidious and Vader marked the end of the lineage of Dark Lords going back to Darth Bane, and the beginning of the New Republic Era.
During the early days of the Clone Wars, Skywalker served as a Jedi General in the Grand Army of the Republic, commanding the clone troopers of the elite 501st Legion against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. After receiving his knighthood, Skywalker oversaw the Jedi training of his own apprentice, Ahsoka Tano.
This might be a bit of a controversial pick at just number three, but Darth Vader, perhaps the best-known Dark Side user, is not the most powerful Sith ever. Born Anakin Skywalker, Vader became an extremely powerful Jedi Knight, one who was prophesized to be the "Chosen One" who would bring balance to the Force.
While Darth Vader can make the fight interesting with the use of the Force, Thanos is just too strong and durable for the Sith Lord to defeat.
The lightsaber duel didn't last long due to Luke's lack of training with the Jedi weapon and the Force, so Vader effortlessly snatched his old lightsaber from his son. Luke managed to escape before Vader could kill him, but Vader was quickly the winner of the fight itself.
We would have to give the victory to Darth Vader. While the two dark lords seem perfectly matched on their villainy and power, Darth Vader's lightsaber and ability to immediately use the force to choke Voldemort, without chanting any spell would end this showdown in seconds.
#1 – Yoda. Yoda is widely considered to be the greatest Jedi of all time, and with good reason. He is a master of the Force, a skilled warrior, and has an unmatched wisdom that comes from centuries of experience.
Yoda found himself overpowered in battle against Darth Sidious, who would become Emperor Palpatine, but his wise retreat gave him time to mentor a new hope before ultimately succumbing to old age and passing into the Living Force on the planet Dagobah.
Within the Star Wars Legends continuity, Yoda's Jedi instructor was N'Kata Del Gormo, a Hysalrian Jedi Master, according to an in-universe legend.
Darth Nihilus is an iconic Sith Lord that many Star Wars fans adore. He is most known for the Sith Lord with one of the best “looks” since he wears a skeletal mask with a dark shroud.
As the first Dark Lord of the Sith, Ajunta Pall founded the first Sith Empire and expanded it onto other worlds. The Sith took over the planet Ziost and created it as their capital and as Pall's new home.
According to Star Wars Legends content, the first Sith was a former Jedi Master, Ajunta Pall, who became a so-called Dark Jedi, or “Fallen” Jedi.
2 Darth Bane Is An OG Sith
Bane wasn't one to mess around—he would quickly realize Vader's armor is his biggest weakness and would use his powers to disrupt it, all the while battering at his defenses with his saber skills. Vader's ferocity is legendary but Bane would teach him the true meaning of the word.
It is striking, then, that Obi-Wan only triumphed in his duel against Darth Vader in Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 6 as a result of his attachments. Darth Vader initially seemed to have won, walking away leaving Obi-Wan buried in rubble, but Obi-Wan focused on the Force.
Darth Vader is a large, imposing figure whose skill with the Force in combat makes him a fierce adversary. This is not a fight Mando is going to win.
