Using this Force Magic, Talzin constructed for Darth Maul a new pair of legs out of parts from Separatists droids. These new legs looked talon-like, which were better than the horrifying spider legs, but still strange. With his new legs, Maul refocused his attention on getting revenge on Obi-Wan.
After being found by his brother and returning to Talzin, Maul was equipped with a new and improved set of cybernetic legs built from parts of a B2 super battle droid. After losing that set of legs, Maul was refitted new legs by the Death Watch.
Savage returned with the raving Maul to Dathomir. Mother Talzin put Maul into a deep sleep, and then subjected him to her dark magicks. Talzin's powers restored Maul's mind, and rebuilt his legs with a pair of mechanical limbs constructed from battlefield debris.
In the Clone Wars and Rebels animated shows, Maul survived being cut in half at the end of The Phantom Menace, and made a comeback with robotic legs, though in Solo, you only see his upper body in a hologram [UPDATE on rewatch: you see a glimpse of robot legs before you know who it is, though the hologram keeps it ...
Having trained in the ways of the Force, Darth Maul was a formidable warrior strong with the dark side and possessed deadly skills in lightsaber combat. In addition, he was a scheming mastermind who plotted his return to power despite losing his place in the ranks of the Sith.
By the time of Episode 3; Anakin is in his prime, and already one of the Jedi Order's most powerful “masters” (although technically still a knight), just behind Obi-Wan, Windu, and Yoda. Maul wouldn't stand a chance. Anakin stomps.
Maul rivals Dooku in saber skills and is physically superior to the Count. Though DOoku is in better shape, is stronger, is faster, and more durable than most men his age (there are numerous sources of this just ask and I'll explain).
Darth Maul was a Force-sensitive male Dathomirian Zabrak Dark Lord of the Sith who lived during the waning years of the Galactic Republic and during the early years of the reign of the Empire.
The Sith apprentice Darth Maul wielded a double-bladed lightsaber made by joining two hilts together end-to-end. Maul's dexterity and extensive training allowed him to use his weapon as a single-bladed saber, or to activate both crimson blades and fight multiple opponents at once.
Yep. Darth Maul didn't really say or show straight up that he "feared" Darth Vader, but he openly stated his belief that he could not defeat Darth Vader without the help of the Jedi, therefore on his own.
Darth Maul and Obi-Wan's long-standing rivalry started in Episode 1 and lasted all the way until Star Wars: Rebels. Throughout his lifetime, Maul seemed to hate Kenobi!
Five years ago today, one of the coolest moments in Star Wars history happened, and there's a chance you don't know about it. It featured Obi-Wan Kenobi having one final lightsaber duel with his longtime rival Darth Maul, and Kenobi killing Maul in the process.
Why Darth Maul's horns are so long when he first appears in the Clone Wars. I think they grow constantly, like hair or nails, and he has to keep them trimmed so they don't snag on things. When he goes crazy he stops taking care of himself and lets them grow long.
Maul used his lightsaber against his former Master at Sundari Royal Palace. When Maul and Opress were found by the Mandalorian Death Watch, Pre Vizsla took Maul's lightsaber as the two Zabraks recovered. Maul was given back his lightsaber after Vizsla agreed to an alliance between Death Watch and Maul.
The famous Sith Lord Darth Maul was believed to be a full-blooded Zabrak, though he was in fact a Dathomirian with a full-blooded Human mother.
Darth Maul died during a final battle with Obi-Wan in the Rebels TV series, and Palpatine couldn't have cared less. For him, finding and killing Maul for his failure simply wasn't worth the effort.
According to Star Wars Legends content, the first Sith was a former Jedi Master, Ajunta Pall, who became a so-called Dark Jedi, or “Fallen” Jedi. As the name implies, these Force-sensitives chose to practice the Dark Side, and rejected the Light Side of the Force.
The rule has always been that there are only two — a master and and apprentice — nothing more. For that, and a few other reasons, Maul set out for revenge against the Sith, and became the leader of his own crime syndicates. It also officially removed the 'Darth' from his name, making him just 'Maul.
In the now-abandoned Legends continuity, his birth name appeared to be Maul, with the title of "Darth" simply added to it when he was taken on as an apprentice by Darth Sidious.
In a one-shot issue from Marvel Comics, the Sith Lord Darth Maul received a dark vision in the Force, becoming a Jedi against his will. While Darth Maul was one of the most fearsome Sith Lords in the Star Wars galaxy before his fall from grace, he once received a vision from the Force where he became a Jedi Knight.
Darth Maul is of the Zabrak species from Iridonia. That is the same species as Jedi Master Eeth Koth of the Jedi Council. Maul was taken from his home planet at a young age and was raised by Darth Sidious.
Dooku was always intended by Palpatine to be a tool to achieve his larger goals whereas Maul was a legitimate apprentice chosen by Palpatine to eventually succeed him.
Going solo, the difficulty that Sidious would have faced trying to orchestrate the Clone Wars would've skyrocketed without a puppet like Dooku. Without Dooku, who was the leader of the CIS, Sidious's plan to divide the galaxy into two factions may not have come to fruition.
Unlikely. Maul and Palpatine were specialists in the same lightsaber combat form (VII), but Palpatine was more skilled and more experienced, and Savage had little to no technique at all - only brute strength. That's just their lightsaber skill discrepancy.
