Unfortunately, before he could use it, Darkseid was defeated (nearly dying from his wounds) and forced to retreat by a combined army comprised of Humans, Amazons, and
Final Crisis. As prophesied, Orion returns to Earth via boom tube for his final battle with Darkseid. During the massive fight, Orion ultimately kills him by ripping his heart out, which created a firepit of Apokolips from Darkseid's chest cavity (in reference to the prophecy of their final battle).
Despite still being in the theatrical cut, the Old Gods were seen fighting Steppenwolf instead of Darkseid, which was one of the big changes that were made from the film's original vision. Thanks to Zack Snyder's Justice League, fans saw the Old Gods Zeus, Ares, and Artemis come together and defeat Darkseid.
He's a powerful and skilled hero, and he finds a way to win even when he's facing someone more powerful than himself. He's destroyed Galactus, beaten Celestials, and battled gods and monsters of all kinds. Darkseid is definitely the more powerful god, but Thor could take him.
In the Snyder cut of the film, Ares was the one who defeated a young Darkseid during his invasion of Earth by cleaving his shoulder causing his forces to sound the retreat.
Zeus was killed by Darkseid after he came out of hiding to save his daughter Diana. While the young Darkseid who had absorbed the power of his children was outmatched, he nonetheless leeched away all his power while Zeus was busy pummeling him.
Phobia: Incredible as it may seem, Darkseid fears his father, Yuga Khan, more than anything else; Yuga Khan is the one being in the universe far more powerful and evil and was worse of a tyrant than even Darkseid.
Weakness. Radion: Darkseid and all of the New Gods are vulnerable to a substance called Radion. It source is unknown and its effects are toxic only in sustained amounts or after explosive exposure. The average New God can be slain by an application of Radion from a Radion blaster or bomb.
History. During the invasion, Zeus held the axe while Ares prepared, and in the onslaught Ares used the axe to kill many parademons. While Darkseid was fighting Zeus, Ares landed a powerful blow to Darkseid, breaking the latter's spear and wounding his shoulder.
DESTRUCTIVE POWER: Odin has quite a big advantage here, as he has destroyed galaxies in his battles. HAX: While Darkseid's omega beams are very Hax Odin is definitely superior in this category. Odin can basically do whatever he wants on a galactic scale.
First among the Old Gods was Olgrun. Olgrun was immensely powerful, creating many worlds and bestowing wonders upon them. He was also wrathful, and in his rage slew his own beloved daughter. Eventually, the other Old Gods rose up against him, and warred against him for an age.
Athena. One of Zeus' betters is his very own daughter, Athena. Athena is, unquestionably, the most powerful god in DC's Greek collection.
Zeus, Artemis, and Ares also appear in the film Justice League with Zeus portrayed by Sergi Constance, Artemis portrayed by Aurore Lauzeral, and Ares portrayed by stuntman Nick McKinless with David Thewlis' face super-imposed over his.
6 Times Batman Has Defeated Darkseid (& 3 Times Darkseid Defeated Him) Darkseid and Batman have had several fights throughout the years, but Batman has won beat the villain many times. But Darkseid has crushed him too. Darkseid is one of the strongest beings in the universe who possesses control over Apokolips.
To start, Darkseid's real name is not actually Darkseid - its Uxas, son of Yuga Kahn and Heggra, the King and Queen of Apokolips. Uxas belongs to a race called the New Gods, who are divided between the worlds New Genesis and Apokolips, which are basically planetary versions Heaven and Hell, respectively.
Thanos reigns!
In the four decades since the pair debuted, Darkseid and Thanos have taken big swings at each other, the comics industry, and Hollywood. But in an MCU-saturated world, there's only one winner: Thanos.
However, Steppenwolf betrayed Darkseid to enemies who wanted to seize the throne of Apokolips, but he later turned on the would-be usurpers, defeating them in the hope of correcting his error. Still, due to his betrayal, he was exiled from his home and tasked with conquering 150,000 worlds for his penance.
DeSaad (also spelled Desaad) is a supervillain, appearing in books published by DC Comics. He is one of the followers of Darkseid from the planet of Apokolips in Jack Kirby's Fourth World meta-series.
Hence during the War of the Gods, Ares' power was enhanced enough to allow him to slay every other Old God, and evenly fight against and severely wound even Zeus himself, although he was eventually defeated by Zeus.
He is a multiversal entity of pure evil, that was fragmented into a lesser form after the Final Crisis. Darkseid's "True Form" or "Godhead" was eventually reconstituted, combining of all of Darkseid's lesser forms, making all of his past aspects become one.
The Anti-Monitor. The Anti-Monitor is the only thing in the DCU that could be more powerful and more dangerous than Darkseid. The giant, universe eating Galactus rip-off — look, Thanos is a Darkseid rip-off, it happens — is responsible for the deaths of Supergirl (very sad) and Barry Allen (less sad, Wally's cooler).
Due to desiring to rob the entire multiverse of free will, enslaving and oppressing his homeworld, ruling as a tyrant, having one of the highest body counts out of any DC villain, destroying and enslaving entire planets and destroying the entire multiverse temporarily, Darkseid is considered to be one of the most evil ...
History. Reanimating the Old Gods his son murdered, Yuga Khan decided to eliminate the New Gods so the Old Gods could never die, but his children joined against him and was ultimately slain by the resentful, power-hungry Uxas while he was about to kill Izaya, his first-born son and Uxas' older brother.
In other comics such as some New 52 like Infinity Man & The Forever People, Yuga Khan's death was by the hands of Darkseid and Highfather. As the brothers fought side by side, they slayed their father and in by doing so it was known as the day the New Gods were born.
Standing at an awe-inspiring 8'9 and weighing in at 1815 pounds, Darkseid (born Uxas) is a New God and the ruler of the hellish planet Apokolips.
