In season 8 of The Walking Dead, Carl Grimes passed away. He dies from a walker bite, which the young hero unluckily receives after assisting Siddiq in paying tribute to his mother by killing walkers in the hopes that their souls would be freed.
Rick then tried manufacturing more justification by assuming that Carl helped Siddiq for the latter's medical skills, but Carl again chipped it all away by telling Rick he saved Siddiq because the man needed help, plain and simple.
Played by Chandler Riggs, Carl met his end as a result of his attempt to save Siddiq during the All-Out War.
The scene in question took place in Episode 6, titled "The King, The Widow, and Rick," when Carl was attempting to guide new survivor Siddiq back to Alexandria.
Carl's Death
Rick centered his whole life pre and post-apocalypse around his son, and the day he learned Carl had been bit by a walker was a day that forever hardened him. Not only did Rick lose his son to a walker bite, but had to listen as Carl shot himself and then bury his body in the Alexandria graveyard.
It may have been implied during the time between issue 137 and 138, but it's now official. Carl Grimes loses his virginity to the possible Whisperer rat, Lydia. Go, Carl! Two things about this are a bit weird.
He genuinely respected Carl to the point where he had plans to groom him to be a Savior. Despite threatening to kill him more than once, he became emotional when he heard that Carl had passed away.
Carl also seems to have developed a crush on Enid, but appears too timid to pursue it, given his resistance to even hold her hand for more than one second.
Fans were surprised in December when Carl (Chandler Riggs) revealed he suffered a walker bite at some point on the show. There was just one big lingering question. When and how was Carl bit? The start of Sunday's episode finally revealed Carl was bit on the season's sixth episode after approaching Siddiq.
Carl Grimes Was 15 When He Died
Carl Grimes died in season 8, episode 9 "Honor." He was the first of The Walking Dead kids to appear on the show, at 12 years old. He was the first character fans got to see grow up from a young boy to a young man, both as a character and actor.
Rick and Michonne go outside to deal with their grief as Carl shoots himself in the head with the same gun he has had since he was a child. Rick and Michonne then bury his body next to the church. The shocking news of his death reaches the communities and even Negan.
Near the end of Season 11, Carl seemingly impregnated a woman named Tish, possibly giving the babies a half-sibling.
Carl shouts at him to try and revive him, attracting nearby walkers. Carl is able to dispatch them, and when he returns, yells at a still unconscious Rick, blaming him for abandoning his leadership role, hurting himself, his mother Lori, his newborn sibling Judith, and the others of his group at the prison.
Despite his deep happiness, Siddiq was not able to get rid of his head contemplating how his friends were executed by Alpha and began to suffer from hallucinations due to his post-traumatic stress disorder.
As revealed during episode 909, Rosita and Siddiq had a series of hookups during the time jump that resulted in the conception of this baby. Sometime later, Rosita and Father Gabriel formed their romantic relationship and things seem to be in a good place between them.
The Walking Dead revealed the father of Rosita's baby in the latest episodes of the show. It was a mystery that didn't last for very long, even though she still seems to have three important men in her life. The father of the baby is Siddiq (Avi Nash), who has become an important character on the show.
2) CARL IS IMMUNE
But given the rules of the series, Carl would still die from the infection caused by the bite in this scenario, which shoots a big hole through it as a means of keeping Carl alive.
Gracie is first found by Rick Grimes after he kills her father in hopes of getting to a weapons room. After he realizes he just killed her father, Rick is immediately filled with guilt. He takes Gracie out of the outpost where she is adopted by Aaron.
Alejandro was supposedly the only character in the entire Walking Dead universe known to survive a walker bite without having his limbs amputated (and amputation would be impossible due to that he was bitten on the shoulder), but in "Wrath" it was confirmed that he lied about his bite wound and he was actually bitten ...
What was going on with Beth and Daryl? Left to escape on their own, they shared intimate conversations about their lives, drank together, and seemed like a sweet couple out on the first date. Of course, this may also have been interpreted as a brother/sister type relationship, rather than a romantic one.
Later, when Rick and the other group members arrive at The Prison, Beth runs up and kisses Rick on the cheek for saving Maggie's life. She then hold hands with Maggie as they walk to the prison. After that, she gives Judith to Rick, and stated that she has Lori's eyes.
Of all the characters in the show, Carl dealt with shame and guilt more than anyone. It felt like whenever he took an action that had a repercussion on the group, he'd be consumed with guilt. He had a penchant for always thinking everything was his fault, leading to battles of borderline depression during the show.

He says two sentences to the son of his best friend and comrade in the zombie apocalypse. "These people, you saved them all. That's all you man," Daryl says to Carl. Daryl then looks at Rick and gives him a little nod.
In the final episode of the series, Negan finally utters the words “I'm sorry” to Maggie. But she informs him that she can never forgive him for what he did.
