Diana's royal roots
Diana is descended from not one, but two illegitimate children of King Charles II of England: Henry Fitzroy and Charles Lennox, via two of her great-grandmothers, Adelaide Seymour and Rosalind Bingham.

In a short statement the family said: “Raine, Countess Spencer, died peacefully at her home in London on 21st October, 2016, after a short illness.” Countess Spencer was the daughter of prolific romantic novelist Dame Barbara Cartland and grew up in the rarefied world of upper class England.
To the press and the British public, she was 'Acid Raine', the wicked stepmother of Diana, fairytale Princess of Wales. But now, on the 25th anniversary of Diana's death, will the late Countess Spencer finally be revealed as the hero of the story?
The former butler stunned the packed courtroom describing Diana's mother's alleged comments as “a hate-filled personal attack on the men and their religious beliefs.” According to Burrell, as a result of that call, Diana vowed never to speak to her mother again.
Diana enjoyed a close relationship with her sons before her tragic death in 1997. She wanted her children to have as normal an upbringing as possible and treated them to days out at theme parks, sent them to public school and took them on royal tours.
Diana's relationship with her own mother was also turbulent. The pair weren't on speaking terms at the time of her death and, according to The New York Times, Frances revealed that the princess had returned her letters unopened.

The ring reportedly was found in the wreckage of the Mercedes and given to Diana's sisters when they came to Paris to accompany her body back to England.
Kelly Fisher claimed she and Dodi Fayed were engaged when he and Princess Diana started dating.
