Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn (Eddie Munson), has come to the defense of costar Grace Van Dien. In the fourth season of the sci-fi series, Dien played cheerleader Chrissy Cunningham, Eddie's love interest.
Eddie was revealed to have a special soft-spot for Dustin, who was adamant that Eddie was innocent. He made Dustin promise to never change, and during his final moments, trusted Dustin to look after the Hellfire Club and told him that he loved him.
Yet, as the audience gradually gets to know Eddie, they can appreciate that he actually has a noble heart, which is why his friends both love and admire him. Furthermore, just by analyzing his relationship with Dustin, for whom he became a role model, one can see how pure the character is.
The kicker of it all? Eddie's final words to Dustin: "I love you, man." If those words weren't already bringing on the waterworks, Dustin tearfully replies "I love you, too." And then Eddie is gone. The impact of those words in that moment could not have been more perfectly heartbreaking.
Sadly, Eddie never had the chance, dying in a moment that could be questioned as a sacrifice in general. Instead, it seems like he was killed for potential shock value or to show that someone who was not the main character did not survive the battle against Vecna.
Bats killed Eddie, and bats are linked to vampires. Plus, Kas is also known to fight with a sword and shield, just as Eddie did in the finale.
With Eddie being an important and intriguing character, and a fan-favorite, it seems Stranger Things could have added more meaning behind his death. Without a scene showing the impact Eddie's death had on his new friends who he just helped save makes his death seem less impactful.
Greta also wrote LOSER on Eddie's arm cast and then, he later covers the S with a V in red marker, so it then spells LOVER. She is also the one to tell Eddie his medication is a gazebo rather than Mr. Keene himself.
Eddie's fifth person in heaven, a little Filipino girl who Eddie unknowingly kills while he and his unit are escaping captivity during the war. Tala is affectionate, trusting, and wise. Following her mother's instructions, Tala hides from Eddie and his men in one of the abandoned village huts.
Eddie loves DIO!” Under his jacket, Munson sports a “Hellfire Club” t-shirt, representing Hawkins High School's Dungeons & Dragons club.
In the fourth season of the sci-fi series, Dien played cheerleader Chrissy Cunningham, Eddie's love interest. Unfortunately, Chrissy and Eddie's lives were cut short by Vecna, but their short-lived romance was quite adorable.
Eddie started off as a bully until he saw Chrissy getting possessed by Vecna and dying in front of his eyes, making him the prime suspect. He prefers to run away, like he did this time too, until getting saved by Dustin and his new friends.
Nanceddie. Nanceddie is the het ship between Nancy Wheeler and Eddie Munson.
Munson, he's...he's a hero. Dustin Henderson tells Wayne Munson that Eddie died a hero. He is the leader of the Hellfire Club, the official D&D club of Hawkins High School.
The queer hanky code
The placing of the hanky, in either the left or right back pocket of the legwear, would communicate whether you were a top (dominant) or a bottom (submissive), with the left being for the former and the right for the latter.
Stranger Things brings back fan-favourite Eddie Munson - with a twist. Eddie's coming back for a prequel story, but it won't be on TV.
Eddie Munson's Stranger Things Season 4 Finale Death Is the End of the Character. The Duffer Brothers have confirmed it.
In heaven, Ruby tells Eddie the true story of how his father died saving Mickey, and teaches him the lesson of forgiveness.
He died from a heart attack, caused by the shock from a young Eddie running into the street after a lost ball on his birthday. The Blue Man teaches Eddie that all lives are connected, even strangers.
Out loud, Eddie mentions that it was—who else? —Henry Bowers who broke his arm. Beverly remembers this.
But they always end up being together and in love, as they're basically soulmates. Even though Eddie dies in every adaptation, there are a lot of AUs where Eddie survives and ends up marrying Richie.
As was demonstrated in IT Chapter One, the pair were close in the book — with Richie even going on to kiss Eddie on the cheek following his sacrifice.
Joseph Corvelzchik, The Blue Man: Joseph is the first man Eddie meets in Heaven. His skin had been turned blue when he was a boy because of the repeated ingestion of silver nitrate, thought to be an effective medication at the time.
Why is he the first person Eddie meets in heaven, and what does he teach him? The Blue Man in The Five People You Meet in Heaven informed Eddie that they were connected in a way that Eddie had never known about. Through the Blue Man's story and lessons, Eddie's journey in the afterlife begins.
Though Eddie manages to occupy the Demobats until the battle is over, he succumbs to his wounds. He dies in Dustin's arms in the Upside Down, and his body is never recovered. Days later, Dustin tells Eddie's uncle that he died a hero, fighting for the town despite the fact that everyone in it wrongly hated him.
