To Dio, the Joestars represented something he hated just as much as his father: the upper class, those who never suffered like he did and had their life handed to them on a silver platter.
In the beginning, DIO only hated Jonathan, and he had absolutely no respect for him, but with time it began to change. They spent years as brothers, and they experienced both good and bad things together.
After the death of his obnoxious father, Dio made his way into the Joestar mansion. He and Jonathan immediately resented each other and formed a rivalry that would encompass their relationship. Dio was obsessed with Jonathan, who was the protagonist of Part 1 and he tried to ruin his life in every possible way.
While Dio may be an embodiment of evil, he did have an odd sense of respect for Jonathan Joestar. This is why the villain would not overwhelm the hero alongside his minions when he raised them against Jonathan. This was also the reason Dio was so adamant about possessing his adoptive brother's body specifically.
Dio hated him, coveted his life, and wanted to destroy and replace him. This was the life Dio had and was taught to never let anything stop him from anything. If life wasn't fair, he would ALSO be unfair and cheat his way to the top. Jonathan was the direct opposite of his ideals, and believed them so hard.
Jonathan Joestar is probably the weakest JoJo in the series. He doesn't have a stand, and his powers are limited to the utilization of Hamon. He doesn't have a stand that is not uncommon since the concept of stands was introduced only in Stardust Crusaders, the third part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventures.
If you'll recall from the ending of Phantom Blood, Dio professed that he respected Jonathan over all else, and even mourned him briefly after he died.
King Crimson's ability gives Diavolo the upper hand against DIO and his Time Stop. DIO can stop time for up to 9 seconds so theoretically, Diavolo would just have to use the precognitive ability of his sub-Stand, Epitaph, combined with King Crimson's Time Erasure to defeat DIO.
Dio is canonically bisexual. Araki stated in a 2007 interview that "[Dio's] sort of a composed character that could go either way. [He] could go with a man or a woman."
DIO was too afraid that Jotaro was going to be another "Jonathan" in which he'd win. The magnets that Jotaro put on himself and he made DIO think that Jotaro was just another "weak" Joestar, in which he got cocky, and decided to go for the fatal blow with the stop sign.
Described by DIO as the "weakest" Stand, Survivor travels across wet surfaces and stimulates the human limbic system with a tiny electric potential of 0.07 Volts and an otherwise negligible current, which is stated to increase an individual's anger or fighting spirit.
The triumph of bad over good upset many fans. The ending of Stone Ocean is also deemed pretty confusing. Another reason that made the fans upset is that the Stands in Stone Ocean can be really confusing, which makes it extremely important to pay attention to details.
While Speedwagon claimed that he was born evil, Dio's treacherous and insane nature may be partially effected by his abusive upbringing at the hands of an alcoholic father, whom he later killed. He is shown to be an extremely arrogant and ambitious megalomaniac.
Dio is canonically bisexual in both the anime and manga. In the 2007 Eureka interview with Araki (the author of the franchise), when asked about Dio's sexuality, Araki responded: "... Dio's sort of a composed character that could go either way.
Phantom Blood
However, Dio learns of their romance and decides to ruin Jonathan's chance for love by forcefully taking Erina's first kiss. A humiliated Erina responds by washing her lips from water in a muddy puddle causing a furious Dio to then strike her for such a gesture.
Jotaro was furious that DIO killed Joseph and Kakyoin. He was unforgiving during the fight; he even smashed DIO's head.
JonaDio is the ship between Jonathan Joestar and Dio Brando from Phantom Blood, the first part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. While it's commonly refered to as "JonaDio/ジョナディオ", the ship is also called DioJona/ディオジョナ for people who prefer Dio as the top, and DJD ("DioJonaDio/ディオジョナディオ") for those who have no preference.
Part 1/3: DIO was confirmed by Araki to be canonically bisexual, and as such is the first LGBT character in the series. Part 5: Sorbet and Gelato were a gay couple and were alluded to by other characters as gay a few times, they are the 2nd and 3rd characters to be canonically LGBT.
In part 6, it was revealed that Dio had previously slept with another male antagonist, Enrico Pucci. When Dio asked Pucci if he would betray him one day, Pucci said he loves Dio as much as he loves god and that he has never even thought of betraying him.
However, Jotaro uses Dio's armlets from his own universe to destroy Dio's hands, the source of his Stand's ability to rewrite reality, before ultimately pummeling Dio and completely destroying his body.
DIO is canonically supposed to be an absolutely stunning person. Beauty is typically associated to positive things, such as, for example, love. Love, which is symbolized by a heart. The hearts in DIO's outfit could also be another way of representing DIO's external beauty.
Heaven DIO could beat Goku. All he has to do is punch Goku once to end him forever. And before you say "Goku in UI would dodge the punch" don't forget that DIO can stop time with his stand. He just stops time, and then lowers Goku's speed to near nothing.
He is pure evil, right down to his very bones! Is he a victim of circumstance, you're wondering? Not on your life!
How did Jotaro die? In Part 6 of Stone Ocean, he was killed by Pucci as he attempted to protect his daughter, Jolyne from him. His attachment to his daughter stopped him from killing Pucci and putting an end to their battle.
Giorno Giovanna is technically a Joestar in the sense that he was conceived with Dio atop the body of Jonathan Joestar, following the depressing events of Phantom Blood's finale. Giorno never had the opportunity to meet his father, though we would imagine that his life would have been far different if he had.
