Galadriel's response surprised all of the Elves: she granted
So when she allows this incredible rarity to Gimli, she essentially gives him the three hairs that Feanor demanded of her, because she has looked into his soul and found that he has a good heart and that he desires them for nothing more than to treasure the beautiful days he spent in her lands.
In the Fellowship of the Ring Gimli asks Lady Galadriel for a single strand of her hair. She then honors him with three. The surrounding elves seem very astonished by the gift she bestowed upon Gimli.
Before the Company of the Ring left Lothlórien, each of its members was presented with a gift by Galadriel. Boromir was given a belt of gold which he carried in the journey until the Breaking of the Fellowship. When Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas laid him in his burial boat, the golden belt gleamed about his waist.
A title of Gimli Elf-friend
At the time of the Fellowship's departure from Lórien, Gimli at first refused any gift from Galadriel, but eventually at her command he requested a strand of her golden hair.
To Sam she gave a little box of plain grey wood, unadorned save for a single silver rune upon the lid. It contained earth from Galadriel's orchard, the earth was like grey dust, soft and fine, and in the middle of which was a seed, like a small nut with a silver shell.
She appears in the novel The Lord of the Rings. Arwen is one of the half-elven who lived during the Third Age; her father was Elrond half-elven, lord of the Elvish sanctuary of Rivendell, while her mother was the Elf Celebrian, daughter of the Elf-queen Galadriel, ruler of Lothlórien.
Arwen, a character in J. R. R. Tolkien's fantasy world of Middle-earth. the Evenstar, a jewel which Arwen gives to her love Aragorn; invented for The Lord of the Rings film series directed by Peter Jackson.
Before the Company of the Ring left Lothlórien, Galadriel presented each of them with gifts: "To Legolas she gave a bow such as the Galadhrim used. The bow was longer and stouter than the bows of Mirkwood, and it was strung with a string of elf-hair". The gift was accompanied by a quiver of arrows.
A Galadhrim bow strung with elf hair and arrows for Legolas.
Celeborn doesn't do much in J.R.R. Tolkien's history. He's a character who is so boring that Tolkien basically forgot to write him. Galadriel met him after she left Valinor; they fell in love, got married, and stayed the hell out of drama for the entire First Age.
In The Silmarillion, Galadriel and Celeborn meet in the First Age of Middle-earth, in the elven realm of Doriath. They marry and have children, including their daughter Celebrían, who goes on to marry Elrond and give birth to Arwen.
" Lockbearer was the name that Galadriel used of Gimli in her message delivered by Gandalf in the Fangorn Forest, so chosen because Galadriel had given three golden strands of her hair to Gimli as a farewell present (at his request) in Lothlórien.
Gimli is enamored of Galadriel from the moment he meets her. She speaks to him kindly, and her words, along with her great beauty, make a strong impression on the Dwarf. Galadriel herself cements Gimli's love for her with her parting gift to him of three hairs from her own head.
Another aspect that the series explores is the decision to forge three rings. As Galadriel, Celebrimbor, and Elrond (Robert Aramayo) discuss after the process has already started, it is a way of preventing the concentration of power in a single being's hands.
Galadriel has very strong magical powers, and she is said to be the greatest of the Ñoldor after Fëanor. The majority of her powers come from her Ring of Power, Nenya, the Ring of Water.
In The Lord of the Rings, Galadriel chose to use her powers for good, even helping to form the Council of Elrond. Galadriel was not evil. But had she been, there would be none who could stand against her forces, especially if she was in possession of the Ring.
Galadriel then presents the Fellowship with additional gifts. To Aragorn she gives a sheath for his sword, Andúril, and a green gem in a silver brooch. Boromir, Merry, and Pippin each receive belts of silver or gold, while Legolas receives a longer, stouter bow.
Legolas's Family Tree
Yet, since Tolkien does give family trees for other important Elves in the book, such as Galadriel and Elrond, it's clear that Galadriel is not Legolas's mother. (Besides, she is one of the Noldor, not a Silvan or Sindar Elf.)
Legolas receives a bow and arrows from Galadriel. This gift is the same in the Lord of the Rings books and movies. Gimli initially is unsure about a gift. In the end, he asks for a strand of Galadriel's hair.
She has a vision of a child clothed in white running across her path. She watches as the boy runs with his arms outstretched to his father, an aged Aragorn, who picks him up with joy and kisses him. As the boy looks at her and she sees he is wearing the Evenstar, she knows the boy to be her child.
Arwen Undómiel, often called Arwen Evenstar, was one of the half-elven, married to Aragorn II. She was the daughter of Elrond and Celebrían.
She was a royal Elf of both the Noldor and the Teleri, being a grandchild of both King Finwë and King Olwë. She was also close kin of King Ingwë of the Vanyar through her grandmother Indis. Galadriel was a leader during the rebellion of the Noldor, and present in their flight from Valinor during the First Age.
Elrond married Celebrían, daughter of Celeborn and Galadriel, early in the Third Age.
Technically, Arwen is Aragorn's aunt, but it's not as weird as it sounds (at least within the context of Middle Earth). The romance and marriage of Arwen and Aragorn are unique in a variety of ways.
