11. The demon slayers successfully defeated Muzan.
The explosion, which was enhanced by spike traps, manages to injure Muzan. Before he is able to regenerate fully, Tamayo appears and uses her Blood Demon Art to keep him in place, while using a drug that can turn him into human. Using this opportunity, Gyomei Himejima appears and destroys Muzan's head.
Towards the end of the Demon Slayer manga, it took the combined efforts of multiple Hashiras including Tanjiro, Inosuke, Zenitsu and the poison made by Tamayo to be able to defeat Muzan. Even then, the group barely managed to kill him and a lot of lives were sacrificed in the process.
Muzan truly is one of the strongest characters in Demon Slayer. No character could single-handedly defeat him. It took the entire Demon Slayer Corps to beat this 'demon overlord' in the end. Another character in Demon Slayer who played a pivotal role in defeating Muzan was none other than Tamayo.

The two known demons who broke free of Muzan's curse are Tamayo and Nezuko. Tamayo was able to break free of the condemnation when Yoriichi fought Muzan, nearly killing him in the process. During this weakened state, Yoriichi let Tamayo go, free her from Muzan, and free her from the curse.
It is revealed that Muzan's true fear of dying and immense desire to live and survive was due to him being born "dead," where his heart would constantly stop in his mother's womb and was assumed stillborn until he fought to breathe before his cremation.
Both Obanai and Mitsuri give their all in this battle with their Flower Breathing and Serpent Breathing techniques to heavily contribute in killing the evil existence that was Muzan.
It is revealed that Tamayo's drug had an aging potion mixed in along with the Demon antidote. Due to this, Muzan has aged 9,000 years within the span of three hours.
Sanemi managed to survive the battle against Muzan, if just barely. Unconscious and straddling the edge of death, Sanemi chose not to go to Heaven with his siblings, but to lovingly join his mother in Hell because she'd killed most of her children after she became a demon.
The warrior Muzan feared was a swordsman named Yoriichi Tsugikuni. Yoriichi was the only slayer before Tanjiro who came close to killing Muzan, and the flashback of their fight occurred in Chapter 187.
Muzan Kibutsuji has done some terrible things in Demon Slayer, but his slaughter of Tanjiro's family is one of the most mysterious.
Since he didn't know anything about the Blue Spider Lily medicine, he needed others to find the plant for him by happenstance. This is the general reason why Muzan turned Nezuko into a demon. More specifically though, was the fact that Nezuko was of Kamado blood.
However, in the Demon Slayer manga Muzan reveals his motivation for attacking the Kamado family. It turns out that Muzan attacked the Kamado family and specifically turned Nezuko into a demon in an attempt to create a demon that would be able to withstand being in the sunlight.
Mitsuri puts up a strong fight against the Demon King and finally recovers from her loss of strength. Finally, as Muzan was about to land a critical blow on Mitsuri, Tanjiro stabs Muzan with a broken Nichirin blade in the head, and at the same time, Infinity Castle collapses.
However, Muzan would never fully escape his intimate relationship with death, as he was later diagnosed with a terminal illness that would take his life before he reached his 20th birthday.
Tanjiro decapitates Akaza with the Hinokami Kagura: Setting Sun Transformation. Akaza was bewildered, wondering how Tanjiro did not have any fighting spirit, comparing this feeling to fighting against a plant. He acknowledges that Tanjiro surpassed his speed.
For those who have watched only the first season of the anime, they will be surprised to know that Muzan turns into a woman in the second season. He keeps transforming in order to hide his true identity, and he's even known to change into an 11-year-old child to hide from Demon slayers.
Thanks to Somiyoshi, and later on Tanjuro who passed it down to Tanjiro, the world is left with a weapon to defeat Muzan Kibutsuji, long after Yoriichi passed away. Those are ultimately the role of Tanjiro's father, Tanjuro Kamado, in the story of the Demon Slayer.

This happened due to a treatment that had gone wrong. While he was being treated, Muzan killed the doctor because he was not able to observe any results.
Yet, for some reason, Tanjiro Kamado, the series' protagonist, never becomes a Hashira. Demon Slayer's protagonist Tanjiro Kamado starts out as an ordinary boy but has his entire life turned around after his family massacre. To make matters worse, his only surviving family, Nezuko, is turned into a demon.
Trivia. Anne was originally planned to be Muzan`s older sister, who died by the hand of a Demon Slayer but that idea was scrapped, as the author knew practically nothing about Muzan`s early life. Instead, Anne became his wife, by which he had two children.

Tanjiro is considered to be Muzan's main nemesis throughout the series.

In fact, Muzan views him as more of a business partner and one of his closest allies. Thanks to this treatment, Kokushibo is extremely loyal to Kibutsuji and remains his strongest enforcer.
