Morgana, also called Morgaine or Morgan, is a staple figure of the Arthurian legend. Her relationship to Arthur varies but usually she is introduced as Arthur's half-sister, the daughter of his mother Igraine and her first husband Gorlois, the Duke of Cornwall.
Another significant new family-member is Arthur's other sister or half-sister known by several names including Morgause, daughter of Gorlois and Igerna (Igraine) and mother of Gawain and Mordred, replacing Anna in the romances. They may be joined by a third half-sister, today best known as Elaine.
In its most famous version, the whole legend begins with King Arthur sleeping with his half-sister and conceiving a son, Mordred, and it all comes crashing down when Mordred and Arthur deal each other mortal wounds.
Arthur had three half-sisters who are sometimes referred to as sorceresses. Arthur falls in love with Mordred, not knowing that she is his half-sister. They have a son Mordred.
His first wife is Miranda Carroll, who is from the same small island as Arthur. His second wife is Elizabeth Colton, who is the mother of Arthur's child Tyler. His third wife is named Lydia Marks. Towards the end of his life, Arthur comes to regret his actions and stop valuing his possessions.
In Chapter 18:1, Arthur first sees Guinevere and falls instantly in love with her. In 18:3, he tells Merlin he will have only Guinevere as his wife.
Guinevere was the wife of King Arthur, the legendary ruler of Britain. She was a beautiful and noble queen, but her life took a tragic turn when she fell in love with Lancelot, one of Arthur's bravest and most loyal knights.
Arthur and Guinevere are married after Arthur establishes himself as king of England and quashes the numerous rebellions that rise up against him. In early versions, Guinevere is something of a prize won by a warrior king. The marriage ceremony is lavish and an important symbol of the newly glorious Camelot.
Elizabeth Colton. Tyler's mother and second wife of Arthur. Early in her life, Elizabeth is an ethereal and charming woman who strives to please others. After the collapse, she becomes increasingly fixated on the spiritual meaning of the pandemic.
In the medieval legends about King Arthur of Britain and his knights, Lancelot is the greatest knight of all. In time, however, Lancelot's love for Guinevere, the king's wife, leads him to betray his king and sets in motion the fatal events that end Arthur's rule.
In the early chronicles and later in prose Arthurian romances, Guinevere was abducted by Mordred, Arthur's nephew (or, in some versions, his son), and this action was closely bound up with the death of Arthur and the end of the knightly fellowship of the Round Table.
Mordred and Arthur's armies clashed in battle at Camlann, where Arthur killed Mordred—but not before being mortally wounded by him. According to legend, Arthur did not die but was taken from the battlefield to recover on the island of Avalon, where he still remains.
Arthur was born in Camelot to Uther and Ygraine Pendragon with the help of magic by the sorceress and priestess, Nimueh. Unfortunately, Ygraine was infertile, thus incapable of giving birth, but Uther, who was desperate for an heir, went to Nimueh and persuaded her to use her magic to help Ygraine.
Merlin suggested King Arthur marry the person he was most in love with but warned King Arthur that Guinevere would not be a good wife because she would love somebody else. King Arthur decided to marry Guinevere despite Merlin's warning, and Merlin went to Cameliard to ask for Guinevere to marry King Arthur.
Originally a kind-hearted individual, Morgana became evil after being corrupted by Morgause and being betrayed by her former-friend Merlin.
Arthur and Guinevere were friends and love interests. They cared very little for one another at the start of the series, as Gwen believed Arthur to be an arrogant bully and Arthur barely seemed to be aware that Gwen existed. As time went on, however, they grew to be friends and eventually fell in love.
One of these knights was Sir Lancelot. He was Arthur's best friend. But unfortunately, Lancelot was also in love with King Arthur's wife, Guinevere. And because Lancelot was the best looking and most chivalrous knight in the kingdom, Guinevere couldn't resist his allure.
Background. Eliza was a young waitress who met Arthur Morgan at some point in his past. Following a sexual encounter between the two, Arthur got Eliza pregnant with their son, Isaac.
She seduces Arthur in the hope that she can later use it against him. A sorceress with authority over dark powers, Morgawse is a central figure in Hawk of May (1980) and its sequel, Kingdom of Summer (1982), the first two novels in Gillian Bradshaw's Down the Long Wind series.
Gawain, hero of Arthurian legend and romance. A nephew and loyal supporter of King Arthur, Gawain appeared in the earliest Arthurian literature as a model of knightly perfection, against whom all other knights were measured.
Arthur's most vicious enemy was his half sister, Morgan le Fay. A skilled enchantress, she did everything she could to defeat Arthur. Once Arthur was hunting in Wales with two other knights, Sir Urience and Sir Accolon.
Lancelot is also the lover of King Arthur's queen, Guinevere. Lancelot, also spelled Launcelot, also called Lancelot of the Lake, French Lancelot du Lac, one of the greatest knights in Arthurian romance; he was the lover of Arthur's queen, Guinevere, and was the father of the pure knight Sir Galahad.
As well known as King Arthur's blade or the Holy Grail of Jesus Christ, the love between Sir Lancelot and Queen Guinevere has cemented itself as one of the most integral romances of the literary world.
