Zoro x Hiyori
The Wanokuni arc of One Piece gave Zoro the spotlight he deserved but fans were more gravitated toward his scenes with Hiyori. It wouldn't surprise fans if Hiyori reveals her feelings for Zoro, her savior. They shared intimate moments and Zoro might even find a sense of belongingness when he's with her.
Since then, she has developed complete loyalty to Luffy, feeling indebted to him for everything he has done for her. Throughout the series, Nami has always acted as a negotiator and counselor on Luffy's behalf. She also tends to make sure Luffy is not too reckless, frequently scolding him for his careless actions.
Robin also seems to be very devoted to Luffy, as he is the only person whom she wants to get stronger for. This shows how great her dedication to her captain has become after the Enies Lobby Arc. Upon learning of Ace's death, Robin was very shocked and became greatly concerned about Luffy's wellbeing.
Zoro is perceived as the vice captain of the Straw Hats. He is arguably Luffy's most loyal crewmate. He has displayed the most respect and dedication to Luffy by following his orders, proclaiming promises, and being the most vocal about Luffy achieving his dream of becoming the Pirate King.
Ever since the Enies Lobby Arc, fans have sensed subtle romantic tension between Franky and Nico Robin. Though this isn't explored explicitly across the series, the two do have a consistent dynamic, as dark and serious girl and bright and silly boy.
Throughout his journey Luffy has made strong bonds with numerous women. At least two have fallen in love with him, Alvida and Hancock, whilst another two have become enamoured with him, Rebecca and Shirahoshi. Nami, Robin and Vivi all share close and deep bonds with Luffy and have become some of his closest friends.
Sir Crocodile was the main antagonist of the Alabasta arc of the series and the first Shichibukai that Luffy took down. Crocodile is easily one of the most difficult fights that Luffy has ever fought as he lost to him twice. In fact, Luffy would've died both the times had luck not been on his side.

The biggest indicator that Shanks respects Luffy was his challenge to the Straw Hat captain. If he believes that Luffy can meet him on the sea once more and give him a real challenge, then it's clear he respects Luffy's skills and potential.
