In Greek mythology, Hermes wore winged sandals which allowed him to fly. However, in the God of War Series, not only does he wear boots instead of sandals, but they appear to only give him the power to speedily run along any surface.

Flight Speed: Hermes is capable of flying at tremendous speed. He is able to attain speeds that are just slightly under the speed of light (80% - 99.65% light speed), which is 150,000 to 185,620 miles per second.
Ares, the original god of war, unless Kratos unseats him off of his throne and title. This was no easy feat and his boss fight is a testament to that. The battle between Ares and Kratos is one of the first truest combats between two gods.
This was confirmed in God of War III when Kratos discovered that Zeus was infected with fear when Kratos first opened Pandora's Box and used its power to kill Ares. After a lengthy battle and an enlightening encounter with Pandora in his psyche, Kratos finally overcame and killed Zeus.
In fact, for all of his boasting, he is actually one of the few gods that Kratos defeats rather easily and without much effort. Hermes mainly relied on his speed and agility in combat, knowing full well that he could never hope to win against Kratos in a straight fight.
In Greek mythology, Kratos, also known as Cratus or Cratos, is the divine personification of strength. He is the son of Pallas and Styx. Kratos and his siblings Nike ('Victory'), Bia ('Force'), and Zelus ('Glory') are all the personification of a specific trait.

He can even release an attack that is possibly faster than time itself if he desires.
Zeus, however, weakened Kratos and tricked him into abandoning his godly powers into the Blade of Olympus, which Zeus used to kill Kratos. Although he overcame all obstacles, Kratos was stunned at Zeus's betrayal and swore revenge as he died.
In God of War Ragnarök, it's likely that Kratos is around 1,055 years old. He's something of an old man, but as a demigod, he is still more than young enough to hold his own and then some in battle.
His name is Anos Voldigoad, and he is said to be the strongest demon in history. He was actually able to gravely injure someone with just his heart beat. Anos wields a sword called Venuzdonoa, which is capable of destroying anything in existence.
Maybe not genius, but aligns 130-155 IQ in critical thinking ways. Although as far as battle tactics and military stuff he was a once in a generation mind. Moreso Kratos is a testament to hardwork and passion rather pure intelligence or brute strength.

Death of Ares
Kratos, however, spotted the Blade of the Gods (which had sent by Athena), dodged Ares' attack, took up the sword, and defeated him in battle with it.
For those who don't know, Kratos has white skin because after Ares tricked him into killing his wife and child in the first game, their ashes covered his skin permanently.
The Hulk's strength has no limits. While Kratos' rage seems to be the source of a lot of his power in battle, The Hulk could easily match this and more. The more angry Hulk gets, the stronger he becomes, and there's no way Kratos could cope with this on any level.
The Winner: Old Kratos.
However, Kratos did not kill all the gods, and there are close to a dozen Olympians that managed to survive Kratos' path of destruction.
During this, Odin will ride to fight Fenrisúlfr. During the battle, Fenrisúlfr will eventually swallow Odin, killing him, and Odin's son Víðarr will move forward and kick one foot into the lower jaw of the wolf. This foot will bear a legendary shoe "for which the material has been collected throughout all time".
Poseidon warned Kratos that Olympus' destruction meant the world's destruction. The Ghost of Sparta did not react and told him to prepare for his own death, Kratos proceeded to brutally beat on the sea god, before finally finishing Poseidon by gouging out his uncle's eyes with his thumbs and snapping his neck.
Role as a Villain
In most of the God of War games, Athena was the least selfish and most noble goddess. In the early games, she would help Kratos on his goals to save fellow Olympian god Helios, and stop her brother Ares.
