The Arabs witnessed the unbelievable force and power of Hazrat Ali (RA), who killed Mahrab through the vigorous blow of his sword. Then, the Holy Prophet (SAW) gave him the title of “Asadullah”, which means “Lion of Allah”.
Asādʿullāh : nickname given by Allah and his Prophet Muhammad to describe his kinsman Ali. Asadullah means "Lion of Allah", which is also well known as "Ismāʿīlī Lion".
Hamza Origin and Meaning
The name Hamza is boy's name of Arabic origin meaning "lion or strong". Hamza was the legendary uncle of the Prophet Muhammad, hero of The Hamzanama, the Story of Hamza.
Predator animals possessing fangs are prohibited (e.g. cats, dogs, bears, lions, wolves). Narrated Abu Tha`laba: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) forbade the eating of the meat of beasts having fangs (canine teeth).

The Shia extend the Prophet's role as intercessor to the Imams descended from him.
