As a human amplifier, the Darkling can even amplify Alina's Sun Summoning powers. As of now, these abilities and extensive history make him the most powerful Grisha and the most powerful character in
Zoya, who despite being a bit player from the first book, is now the most powerful Grisha that ever lived and is likely immortal.
Alina is automatically powerful just by being the Sun Summor. She destroyed the Fold, which was with the help of three amplifiers. Because of those amplifiers, she is in third place. Coming in at number two, we have the Darkling.
Zoya is well known and considered to be a powerful witch by the drüskelle. Zoya later gained the abilities of all Etherealki and also demonstrated passable skill as a Fabrikator. After bonding with Juris, Zoya can shapeshift into a dragon. Zoya is fluent in Kerch, Shu and Suli in addition to her native Ravkan.
The Shadow Summoner is another rare case among the types of Grisha in Shadow and Bone, a kind of Etherealki who can manipulate darkness and shadow. The only known Shadow Summoners are the family of General Kirigan, also known as the Darkling.
Not only do they get better and more powerful as they practice, it "feeds" them. For that reason, Grisha, especially talented Grisha, age slower than other humans, sometimes living for centuries, assuming they continue to use their abilities regularly.
It is unknown if other Grisha can harness this power or if it's specific to Baghra, the Darkling, and Alina, as other Sun Summoners have not been mentioned to use the Cut.
Siege and Storm
Alina urges Genya to come with them but Genya cannot and is left behind. Towards the end of the book when the Darkling finds Alina, we find out that the Darkling unleashed nichevo'ya on Genya because she spared Alina. Her skin is scarred all over and she only has one eye left.
Trivia. Zoya is the youngest character in the core cast, being fourteen at the start of the series.
Alina Starkov
In the beginning, the Darkling and Alina felt drawn to one another. Before Alina left the Little Palace, the Darkling kissed her abruptly by the lake, after he told her about the stag he was hunting.
Mal was oblivious to Alina's love from before book one even began. He slept with Zoya and countless others before he realised who was waiting by his back door.
Despite his nefarious plans, it is thought the Darkling did love Alina. However, Alina ends up killing him at the end of Ruin and Rising. Alina and Nikolai Lantsov: In Siege and Storm, despite fleeing together, Mal and Alina begin to drift apart.
There Is a Downside To Being Grisha
It can give Tidemakers the ability to walk through walls by altering their own matter, make Healers able to heal themselves instantly and give Heartrenders mind control.
All children in Ravka are tested at a young age for Grisha abilities, and those who have them go to train at the Little Palace. Grisha are known to age more slowly than humans because channeling their natural element rejuvenates them; those who do not practice much will grow weaker and die faster.
So, she joins forces with the Crows to help stop the Darkling, even sending a Heartrender into the darkness in order to save Inej. However, as punishment for her betrayal, the Darkling consumes the back end of the skiff with darkness, leaving them vulnerable to the volcra, who attack Zoya and Inej.
In the simplest terms, the reason that Genya can't use Breathing Styles stems from his inability to achieve the total concentration breathing that other demon slayers use in order to access their abilities.
Genya Shinazugawa is the student of Tokyo High School and Sakura Igarashi's crush. He is also the Sanemi Shinazugawa's younger brother. He later snatches Demons Driver from Hikaru so, Genya can temporarily become Kamen Rider Over Demons to stop the chaos by Fenix & Demon Slayer Corps.
Even after she learns the truth about the Darkling, his powers are such that he can elicit a response from her when he kisses her without her consent. Alina and Mal share several passionate kisses. The King has a habit of taking advantage of beautiful servants. Genya slept with him.
Ivan is a gay character from Shadow and Bone.
General Kirigan / The Darkling
The villain of Shadow and Bone seasons one and two is the Darkling, the former commander of the Second Army. He is a Shadow Summoner, and the creator of the Shadow Fold. He was born centuries ago and his mom is Baghra (see below).
Oliver Wells (Brian Klugman) is a character on "Bones" that no one at the Jeffersonian really liked, and we have to agree with them. Apart from Hodgins, who he actually gets along with quite well, no one at the lab likes him — and he doesn't care one way or the other.
Fjerdans perceive Grisha power as dangerous and witch-like, and they train their drüskelle to hunt and kill Grisha.
The Fjerdans despise and distrust Grisha, viewing their abilities as unnatural and therefore evil. Their drüskelle warriors frequently kidnap Grisha and put them to trial, only to kill them in the end.
Alina's power of sun-summoning is a hereditary power so rare that before her, Ravkans thought it was a myth. Sun Summoners can bend and summon light, and they can also summon heat from the sun. Before the events of season one of Shadow and Bone, Alina had been suppressing her powers, which made her physically weak.
