#1 – Yoda. Yoda is widely considered to be the greatest Jedi of all time, and with good reason. He is a master of the Force, a skilled warrior, and has an unmatched wisdom that comes from centuries of experience.
Master Yoda has risen above all others to claim the top spot as the most powerful Jedi of all time and the true chosen one according to IGN's audience. He won pretty handily as well, as he was victorious in 89,756 of his 95,243 battles and had a win percentage of 94.2%.
Obi Wan is one of the most powerful Jedi to have ever lived. He is the best defensive duelist in galactic history according to Mace Windu and numerous factbooks. He had a low sensitivity to the force but mastered it to his fullest potential worshiping the force as opposed to bending it to his will.
Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious
At his most powerful, Sidious was able to not only create life from nothing, but was able to create a prophecy-fulfilling Chosen One by manipulating the midi-chlorians to create Anakin Skywalker, who was himself one of the most powerful beings in the galaxy.
In Star Wars Legends and Canon, Galen Marek (Starkiller) is the only Jedi (other than Obi-Wan Kenobi) to put a beat down on Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker.
Luke Skywalker
However, once Luke fully embraced his power in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, he proved that he was indeed stronger than Darth Vader and struck his father down.
Biography. Legend had it that Yoda—a Jedi who became Grand Master—was trained by N'Kata Del Gormo. A Force-sensitive Hysalrian, N'Kata Del Gormo was trained in the ways of the Force and achieved the rank of Master within the Jedi Order.
1 Darth Sidious
There has been no Sith, as powerful, meticulous, nor as evil as the Emperor himself, Darth Sidious. As previously mentioned, Sidious trained in the Dark Side by Darth Plagueis before Sidious killed Plagueis in his sleep, making Sidious a Sith Master.
Between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan, it's pretty clear that Vader is far more powerful with the force. After all, he pretty easily used the force to stop a starship from taking off in the previous episode, and manhandled Kenobi throughout the majority of the show.
Aside from agility and telekinesis, Yoda could absorb and redirect Force attacks, like lightning. Because of his higher understanding, he would easily overcome Darth Vader in a fight, though that doesn't mean it wouldn't be a difficult battle.
Yoda. Is there anyone who would question why Master Yoda makes this greatest Jedi in the Star Wars list? Not only did he live the longest, survived Order 66, and understood The Force in ways that very few did, but he was also responsible for training some of the greatest Jedi in existence.
Yoda. Yoda was a wise, experienced, and powerful Grand Master of the Jedi of an unknown species and the oldest known prophet in existence (having lived at least 900 years), considered the wisest and most powerful Jedi Master within the Star Wars universe.
The very first Jedi in Star Wars canon is a nameless figure known as the Prime Jedi. He was likely the builder of the first Jedi Temple on Ahch-To, seen in The Last Jedi. According to the Star Wars: The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary, the mosaic of stones in the chamber of the Temple depicts the Prime Jedi.
Unwilling to see his son die, Vader gave his life to save Luke, thereby dying as Anakin Skywalker. Anakin ultimately fulfilled his role as the Chosen One and brought balance to the Force, fulfilling Qui-Gon Jinn's belief in the prophecy that foretold Anakin's destiny.
A Sith Lord with the ability to cheat death and create life, Plagueis is the mentor of Sheev Palpatine / Darth Sidious, who, in accordance to the Sith's Rule of Two, eventually betrays Plagueis by murdering him in his sleep, taking his place as Sith Master.
By far the most iconic Sith Lord and warrior is Darth Vader (or Anakin Skywalker). He, through his extensive injuries and being trapped in a technologically-advanced suit to survive, stayed strong with the force.
That said, Vitiate, sometimes better known as the Sith Emperor, is often thought to have been stronger than Darth Sidious thanks to his mastery of the Dark Side of the force which granted him a ridiculously long life.
Yoda held the title of Grand Master of the Jedi Order since the days of the High Republic Era. At some point, Yoda took on a human named Kantam Sy as his Padawan.
Mission to Mathas. Padawan Windu was trained in the ways of the Force by Jedi Master Cyslin Myr. Following his early trials as a youngling, Windu attained the status of Padawan by becoming Jedi Master Cyslin Myr's apprentice.
Jedi training was the action of teaching an apprentice the ways of the Force in the Jedi Order. Under the Galactic Republic, Force-sensitive beings were brought to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant from across the galaxy and trained as Jedi younglings by Grand Master Yoda.
We would have to give the victory to Darth Vader. While the two dark lords seem perfectly matched on their villainy and power, Darth Vader's lightsaber and ability to immediately use the force to choke Voldemort, without chanting any spell would end this showdown in seconds.
As Darth Vader, Skywalker was believed to have had roughly eight-tenths of the strength of the Emperor. Nevertheless, Vader wielded tremendous power and skill, enough to use the Force to overpower almost any opponent he could not defeat with his lightsaber.
Luke lost control of his anger, viciously attacking Vader, finally beating him down and chopping off his hand with his lightsaber. Despite slipping close to the dark side, Luke refused to surrender to the Emperor.
