Disney's newly released film Encanto is about the Madrigals family who all have magical gifts except Mirabel. Mirabel also happens to wear glasses. The film had been kept a secret until its release.
Following this letter, the president of Disney, Roger Iger, created the first princess with glasses: Mirabel, the heroine of Encato. This new Disney princess, who lives in the mountains of Colombia, has curly hair and wears round green glasses. In Encanto, her famous glasses are an integral part of the story.
Mirabel is not only the fourth Disney animated protagonist to wear glasses (after Milo Thatch, Chicken Little, and Lewis Robinson), but the first female protagonist to do so.
Encanto tells the story of Mirabel Madrigal, a young girl with glasses who lives in a magical community but has no apparent powers of her own. Despite her lack of gifts, when the village of Encanto is threatened and its magic is in jeopardy, it falls to her to save the day.
Responding to fan questions, Jared Bush, one of the film's directors, explained (via Twitter) the symbolism in Mirabel's glasses. Bush said, "In Spanish 'Mira' means 'look' and the whole film is about learning to see each other fully." The director added that this was the reason Mirabel had glasses.
Bush then explained: "BUT watch the clip for the answer to a big question: Why doesn't Julieta 'fix' Mirabel or Agustín's eyesight. It's who they are and she wouldn't want to change it."
According to Bush, Julieta saw no reason to "fix" Mirabel's eyesight, since it is "just who [she is] and she wouldn't want to change it." See Bush's post and the original fan story below. A similar discussion came about when Harry Potter had his glasses magically mended in The Sorcerer's Stone.
Although Elsa is not the only character with disability in the Disney canon, she is the first princess 1 to be designed with disability in mind, and one of only two human characters with visible disability to make the cut at all since Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996).
Rapunzel is the only princess with green eyes. I didnt noticed until now! (If you only count the official princesses of course).

Mirabel Madrigal
Mirabel is brave, kind, and cares deeply for her family. While not an official Disney Princess, she certainly fits a lot of the qualifications of being one!
Mirabel's glasses are a bright shade of lime green, the same color as her uncle Bruno's visions, making a subtle connection between the two black sheep of the family. During his visions into the future, Bruno's eyes turn a bright shade of green, and the images he sees are illustrated in the same color.
14 Anna: ADHD
Anna is the youngest of the sisters, and unlike her sibling, she does not possess ice magic and is far more outgoing and lovable. But, she also likely deals with having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

The first and only real obstacle standing between Elena and official Disney Princess status is that Elena of Avalor is a TV series rather than a feature film. The series follows 16-year-old Elena Castillo Flores (who is the same age as five official Princesses) and her journey as the crowned princess of Avalor.
The vision shows flashes of the future, and eventually reveals an image of Isabel (Diane Guerrero) and Mirabel hugging. What's easy to miss is the image right before Isabel is revealed. The person Mirabel is initially hugging looks like Abuela (María Cecilia Botero) before it morphs into Isabela.
