The explosion, which was enhanced by spike traps, manages to injure Muzan. Before he is able to regenerate fully, Tamayo appears and uses her Blood Demon Art to keep him in place, while using a drug that can turn him into human. Using this opportunity, Gyomei Himejima appears and destroys Muzan's head.
11. The demon slayers successfully defeated Muzan.
Both Obanai and Mitsuri give their all in this battle with their Flower Breathing and Serpent Breathing techniques to heavily contribute in killing the evil existence that was Muzan. But, as a result, they both also die, unable to spend any time with the one who they now realize they love.
Muzan's experiment on Nezuko worked out exactly as he'd hoped, but unfortunately for him, he picked the wrong family to mess with, as Tanjiro joining the Demon Slayer Corps is what ultimately led to Muzan's defeat and death.
In the end, Muzan dies due to sunlight, and beheading, but turns his consciousness in Tanjiro, with the ability to walk in the sun. Demon King Tanjiro is equal to Demon King Muzan, but he can walk in the sun.
Sanemi managed to survive the battle against Muzan, if just barely. Unconscious and straddling the edge of death, Sanemi chose not to go to Heaven with his siblings, but to lovingly join his mother in Hell because she'd killed most of her children after she became a demon.
The two known demons who broke free of Muzan's curse are Tamayo and Nezuko. Tamayo was able to break free of the condemnation when Yoriichi fought Muzan, nearly killing him in the process. During this weakened state, Yoriichi let Tamayo go, free her from Muzan, and free her from the curse.
It is revealed that Muzan's true fear of dying and immense desire to live and survive was due to him being born "dead," where his heart would constantly stop in his mother's womb and was assumed stillborn until he fought to breathe before his cremation.
Yoriichi defeated Muzan in an instant, but he had a question for him before eliminating him, which allowed Muzan to escape.
Working together, both Demon Slayers managed to fend off the strongest demon to have ever lived who was casually fighting them, though Tanjiro ends up losing an eye and is severely poisoned as a result, nearly causing him to lose his life.
Shinobu Kocho's tragic backstory is one of the most heart-wrenching in Demon Slayer. She and her sister, Kanae, were orphaned at a young age after their parents were killed by a demon. Thankfully, Gyomei Himejima came in the nick of time to save them.
Thus, Muzan created demons for hundreds of years even when he didn't want to turn someone. Since he didn't know anything about the Blue Spider Lily medicine, he needed others to find the plant for him by happenstance. This is the general reason why Muzan turned Nezuko into a demon.
Rengoku died at the end of the Mugen Train arc. He succumbed to his wounds after realizing that he didn't stand a chance against Akaza, who shamelessly fled the scene as soon as the sun came up. Rengoku died smiling, but not before giving Tanjiro some words of encouragement.
During Tanjiro and the rest of the Hashiras' showdown with the Demon King Muzan, Tanjiro is mortally wounded and dies. At the same time, Muzan receives a particularly fatal lil' booboo himself. As Muzan is about to shuffle off the mortal coil, he uses the last of his powers to turn Tanjiro into a demon.
In the first few arcs of the series, the identity of the demon that killed Tanjiro's family was a mystery. It is later revealed that it was none other than the series' main antagonist, Muzan Kibutsuji.
Tanjuro Kamado was the name of Tanjiro Kamado's father. He passed away before the event of the main story of the Demon Slayer. It is not mentioned how long Tanjuro had passed before the story, but in several flashback scenes, we can see him interacting with a younger Tanjiro.

Between all of Tanjiro's skills and his mannerisms, Muzan is certainly scared of Tanjiro. Tanjiro represents and certainly ends up being the core threat to Muzan's quest to step back into the sunlight.
Moreover, while she was asleep, Urokodaki performed a unique hypnotism on Nezuko, making her believe that all humans are her family and she must not hurt them in any way. With her immense fondness for humanity, Nezuko broke out of Muzan's control, becoming free to do anything at her will.
Muzan Kibutsuji (鬼舞辻無慘, Kibutsuji Muzan) is the main antagonist of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba fantasy action manga and anime series. Muzan is the powerful King of all the Demons, who has the ability to inject his victims with blood that allows him to convert them into more Demons.
While Muzan is extremely powerful, he isn't able to control two specific demons like he does most others. One of the demons he can't manipulate is Nezuko (Akari Kitō and Abby Trott), the half-human sister of Tanjiro.
