The Founding Titan is the first of the Nine Titans that appear in the Attack on Titan franchise. Approximately 2,000 years before the first events of the Attack on Titan story line, Ymir Fritz, from whom all Eldians descended, became the Founding Titan (or Shiso no Kyojin) as a young girl.
Ymir was the very first Titan and the only one to ever possess the complete power of the Titans; all who come after her merely possess fragments of her power. Her Titan body was immense, even by Titan standards, and easily towered above the treeline.
Eren possessed the power of three Titans. From his father, Eren inherited the Attack and Founding Titans. After eating Lara Tybur during the Raid on Liberio, he gained the War Hammer Titan as well.
Founding Titan
Founding Titan is the first and the strongest Titan of all the nine. If the Founding Titan is someone from Royal Bloodline, then it will possess limitless power.
Pieck's Cart Titan is arguably the weakest of the Nine, but it comes with several advantages. Unlike its eight brethren, the Cart Titan walks on all four legs, making it an excellent method of transport. Pieck often has large structures attached to her back, which carry both people and weapons.
1 Eren Yeager
The protagonist of the story, that resorted to mass genocide to protect the things he loves, is at the top of the list. Before he decided to do that, he had been killing titans as a titan shifter of the Attack Titan.
As Armin tries to rescue Eren, the Bearded Titan closes its mouth, biting one of Eren's arms off in the process, and swallows Eren, much to Armin's hysterical horror. It is unknown how Armin survived the Bearded Titan and the others afterwards, but he was no longer attacked after the deaths of his friends.
Founding Titan: After eating Frieda, he inherited the Founding Titan and its power. His normally green eyes turned purple in the process. However, he could not make use of it before passing it on to Eren due to his lack of royal blood.
The nine Titan powers were the Founding Titan, the Armored Titan, the Attack Titan, the Beast Titan, the Cart Titan, the Colossus Titan, the Female Titan, the Jaw Titan and the War Hammer Titan.
After being brought back to Marley, Ymir willingly allowed herself to be killed and was eaten by Marcel Galliard's brother, Porco Galliard, transferring the power of the Jaw Titan to him.
Odin, Vili, and Vé killed the giant Ymir. When Ymir fell, there issued from his wounds such a flood of blood, that all the frost ogres were drowned, except for the giant Bergelmir who escaped with his wife by climbing onto a lur [a hollowed-out tree trunk that could serve either as a boat or a coffin].
All Titans are subjects of the Founding Titan and can only be controlled by those who share the same bloodline as the creator, Ymir Fritz. As the world progressed and the bloodline was diluted, control of the Titans was passed between nations until eventually being used against each other.
Unlike other species, Titans did not mate, and their interactions were nonexistent with organisms other than humans; their sole purpose in life was to seek out and devour humans.
Pure Titans are created by injecting Eldians with Titan spinal fluid. If a Pure Titan eats the human body of a person who possesses one of the Nine Titans, said Eldian will revert to human form and gain that Shifter's powers, whereupon they are cursed to live only 13 more years.
All Titans are originally humans of a race of people called the Subjects of Ymir. Ymir Fritz was the first Titan after awakening the power of the Titans.
The "Smiling Titan" is the unofficial name of Dina's Pure Titan that was notable for killing Eren's mother, Carla Yeager, the new wife of her former husband during the invasion of Wall Maria.
Christa is the wife of Eren.
Dina's Pure Titan was very tall and, like most regular Pure Titans, resembled a male human. Its main distinguishing feature was its characteristic smile, in which its lips are fixed wide open, exposing its teeth and gums at all times.
Because it is impossible for anyone to surpass the Founder, each person who gained the power of the Titans was fated with the "Curse of Ymir" (ユミルの呪い Yumiru no Noroi?), which limited their remaining lifespan to only 13 years after first acquiring it.
1 Eren's Founding Titan
Eren's spooky skeletal Titan form was by far the biggest since it was over two hundred and twenty meters tall. Even though Eren only wanted to protect his friends and loved ones he ended up committing horrible acts that eventually led to his death.
Eren sacrificed his mother for a better future for the world. Eren reveals to Armin that he had a crucial role to play in his mother's death during their final conversation in Chapter 139.
Levi managed to incapacitate the Female Titan, but at a crucial moment, the Female Titan summoned more Titans to come to her aid. As the horde of Titans joined, Levi impressively killed them instantly.
Annie is also known to be very enthusiastic, dedicated, and loyal in her mission as a Titan shifter, to the point that she killed many innocent people to reach her goal (also attempting to kill many of her former comrades), and shed tears when she failed to capture Eren.
The show has also charted Mikasa's journey of living for herself and not just to protect Eren as in earlier seasons, and she's proven to be a formidable fighter. This includes the fact Mikasa has killed 16 Titans thus far, according to CBR.
