Jure Grando Alilović or Giure Grando (1579–1656) was a villager from the region of Istria (in modern-day Croatia) who may have been the first real person described as a vampire in historical records. He was referred to as a štrigon, a local word for something resembling a vampire and a warlock.

As the very first horror film character to be depicted as a vampire, Count Orlok starred in Nosferatu. This 1922 black-and-white silent horror film was considered an unofficial, unauthorized film adaption of the 1897 novel Dracula by Bram Stoker.

Vampires also never age once they hit Young Adulthood unless you force them to age up. Ergo, vampires will never die of old age. However, vampires are not completely immortal. They can still die from downing, fires, electrocution, or other accidents.
How did the legend of vampires originate? Creatures with vampiric characteristics have appeared at least as far back as ancient Greece, where stories were told of creatures that attacked people in their sleep and drained their bodily fluids.
In comparison to humans, a 118 year old vampire is roughly the equivalent to an 18 year old human in terms of appearance.
