POST WAXING CARE
Avoid exercise, hot bath/shower, sauna, steam, hot tub, pools and beaches 24 hours after waxing. Sweating can carry bacteria into the pores and can irritate the skin after waxing.
Medical experts recommend waiting for 24-48 hours after any type of bikini wax. This time period is when your body can be most susceptible to outside bacteria, which can potentially cause an infection. For your safety & health, it is better to abstain, but not required.
Avoid the following for 24 hours after your wax: Swimming and exercise. For Brazilian Wax, no sex, especially oral sex for 24 hours.
Avoid touching your newly hair-free skin—and that means taking care to ensure nothing else touches your skin, either. Since your skin will be more sensitive in the first 24-28 hours after a wax, skip any activities that could cause friction.
Showering, creams, and fragrances
Showering a few hours after your bikini wax is fine. However, when showering be sure to use cool, low temperature water. We also advice avoiding skincare products that could irritate sensitive areas of your skin and open pores, such as perfumed moisturisers and harsh shower gels.
To prevent bumps and ingrowns, try applying a cold pack to the waxed area immediately following your service, which will close the pores and block bacteria from entering.
What's the short answer? While it depends on many factors, results from waxing can last up to 6 weeks. However, this doesn't mean you're hair-free for this long. You'll probably start to see new hair growth around 3 to 4 weeks.
Each person is different, which means that it will take longer for some clients to regulate their hair regrowth cycle. In the meantime, it's normal to get mild stubble or new hairs growing days after a wax, but leaving these hairs alone until the next wax appointment is always the best choice.
Pubic hair needs to be at least the length of a grain of rice or ¼ of an inch long. Many people feel self-conscious about hair being too long before their Brazilian wax, but longer hair is grabbed by wax better. If you trim beforehand, you could cut it too short and forfeit the ability to wax.
Avoid gels, lotions and oils before your wax as it may interfere with hair removal. Avoid tanning 24 hours before your wax. Scan your skin before to ensure it is free from cuts, scrapes, moles and skin tags.
A groomed bikini area is not cleaner or healthier. (
On the contrary, removing most or all of your pubic hair — whether by waxing, shaving, or using depilatory creams — is actually inviting dirt and bacteria into your genital area.
You can still do have this treatment done. I would recommend using Hot Wax, as it reduces the pain. It is also important to stretch the skin properly - your Beauty Therapist must know how to do it and may also ask you to hold the skin.
Brazilian waxes last about three to six weeks. The best thing you can do for your skin is to wax regularly. The more you do it, the longer the results last. If you wait longer or only get waxed a couple times a year, it will be much more painful.
"For a bikini wax, those who frequent the beach benefit from waxing their bikini line every two weeks. But for a full bikini or Brazilian bikini service, you're recommended to come in every three to four weeks. This allows the proper amount of time for regrowth," Coba says.
Definitely. The results last much longer than shaving and other hair removal methods and the process gradually leaves your hair thinner and finer. You don't have to worry about dreaded razor bumps or irritation. Since waxing is inherently exfoliating, your skin will be softer than ever.
For bikini areas, waxing is more precise and can result in less razor bumps because of the delicate skin area.
It's hygienic.
By removing the hair on the outer labia, you can drastically reduce your risk of any unwanted odor. And by removing all the hair with a Brazilian waxing session, you'll have cleaner skin that stays fresher even longer—without any hassle.
Post-Waxing
If after you get back from your appointment, if you notice a few stray hairs, it is definitely okay to tweeze them away. However, it is not a good idea to that sporadically before your next appointment.
Hairs can stop showing up after 8 months of treatment in areas where it grows naturally finer, as well as with people with fine hair. It's just as common, however, for people to go through years of wax sessions before the hair stops growing for good.
Breakage happens when the wax doesn't pull out the entire hair at the root, and instead it breaks it off at surface level. This means that the hair will grow back faster.
NO hot shower or bath for at least 12 hours.
Directly after waxing your hair follicle is left open. This makes it susceptible hot water entering the open hair follicle during a shower or bath. This will irritate the area and create discomfort. Once your follicles close you can return to your normal bathing routine.
