Jenny turned in Jamie in Outlander because she was trying to protect him from the British government. Jamie had been implicated in the Jacobite Rising of 1745, and Jenny knew that he was facing certain execution if he were caught.
Jenny stays with Ian until he dies on March 10, 1778. Afterward, she chooses to go to America with Jamie because nothing holds her at Lallybroch any longer. As Young Jamie's wife is now the new Lady of Lallybroch, Jamie thinks it wise that Jenny will also avoid clashing with her daughter-in-law.
Jamie notes that Claire has told Fergus and Marsali about when the Revolutionary War will come to an end. She'd need to have told them she's a time traveler to be able to explain that one. Jenny does eventually find out. In fact, the Murray family at Lallybroch find out the truth.
Considering Jenny and Claire had a heart-to-heart before the surgeon left, Jenny's not going to appreciate that Claire didn't tell her she had a niece. If Claire was keeping secrets this important then the couldn't be real friends.

They grew to love her as well. Upon her return Jenny is cold to Claire. She loved Claire like a sister, but after twenty years of absence, Jenny is resentful that Claire did not communicate with her. Nope. It's the breast milk. During his time apart from Claire, Jamie slept with several women, including Mary McNab (Emma Campbell-Jones) and Geneva Dunsany (Hannah James). And of course, there was Laoghaire MacKenzie (Nell Hudson) as well who had her sights on Jamie since season one.
