In the season finale, Lonnie was originally going to return and help Nancy and Jonathan fight the Demogorgon instead of Steve, who was supposed to die. Due to to the production's fondness for Joe Keery and his performance, Steve was given the redemption arc instead - with Lonnie not having been seen since.
Type of Villain
Lonnie Byers is a recurring antagonist in the first season of the Netflix original series Stranger Things. He's the estranged and abusive father of Will and Jonathan Byers and the ex-husband of Joyce Byers.
In November 1983, Will, now 12, was abducted by The Monster and taken to the Upside Down. In the first episode, "The Vanishing of Will Byers", Joyce had attempted to call Lonnie to inform him that their son is now missing, only to be answered by his much younger girlfriend Cynthia who rudely hung up on her.
Cynthia, portrayed by Stefanie Butler, is a minor character in the first season of Stranger Things. She is the current girlfriend of Lonnie Byers.
This makes it more unlikely that Lonnie will appear in Stranger Things season 5, but since this story is finally about Will and his Upside Down connections again, each of Will's season 1 storylines, including Lonnie, are apt to return.
Jonathan suspected Will may be at Lonnie's - so checks Lonnie's car trunk (to see if Will is there).
Within the tie-in comic series that focuses on Will's point of view throughout the first season, it's revealed during "The Flea and the Acrobat" that Lonnie seals the broken wall of the Byers house. This inadvertently blocks the portal of the house, preventing Will from escaping the alternate dimension.
Given Joyce's status as a single-mom who works full-time and doesn't have a lot of money, it's likely she just never bothered to change her name back to her maiden name since it would be too much of a hassle for her. Joyce may or may not have also had a really bad relationship with her parents.
Troy also displayed a strong desire for vengeance, going as far as threatening to cut out Dustin's baby teeth and forcing Mike to jump off of a cliff. He also proved to be cowardly when he refused to help James.
In Stranger Things Season 4 episode “Papa,” Robin Buckley (Maya Hawke) is stunned to see her crush Vickie (Anne with an E's Amybeth McNulty) at the War Zone army supply store.
Lonnie, played by Ross Partridge, is Will and Jonathan's real dad. Though he isn't in Season 2, his relationship with the boys was explained in four episodes of the first season. Lonnie was married to Joyce, but he was a terrible dad and husband.
A new fan theory suggests that the father of Jonathan and Will Byers will make a return in Stranger Things season 4. Lonnie Byers was played by Ross Partridge and appeared in a total of four episodes during season 1 of the Netflix series.
They later save Steve, Robin, and Dustin at Starcourt Mall. The Mind Flayer attacks and is later defeated by the group. At the end of the season, Will moves out of Hawkins with his mother, brother and Eleven after giving away his Dungeons and Dragons set to Erica Sinclair.
Jonathan Byers
Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton) routinely tops lists of the worst Stranger Things characters, and it's not hard to see why.
Demogorgon - Season One/Three/Four
Demogorgons are not just one of the scariest Stranger Things villains, but they're also one of the most original, terrifying creatures ever to be seen on TV screens. They did kill Barb, though, so fans won't be happy until they're all dead.
Lonnie is “Cooked”, Joyce's maternal instincts are “Raw”
Lonnie tells Jonathan to take down an “offensive” The Evil Dead poster on the wall (so much there, but we'll move on) and later hammers up boards concealing the hole Joyce chopped out with the wood axe in the previous episode.
Angela was possibly inspired by Stephen King's Carrie character Chris Hargensen, as they like bullying the protagonist, who happens to possess telekinetic powers (Angela is bullying Eleven, and Chris is bullying Carrie White). Angela vaguely parallels Two, who also bullied Eleven and would later receive punishment.
Noah Schnapp CONFIRMS his Stranger Things character Will Byers 'is gay and he does love Mike Wheeler' | PINKVILLA.
While her early years as a telekinetic were based solely on trauma, Eleven has learned to cruise above her pain and focus on strong emotions. That said, there's no doubt that the core of her strength was born from the pain she experienced both from her peers and the betrayal of One.
Sharing more about Eleven's real father Andrew Rich could be a great way to wrap up the story.
I looked it up online, but all I could find is that it apparently came from Hopper's trust fund.
The Stranger Things costars appear to have a close bond off-screen, but no, they are not dating each other in real life.
So, how did Will Byers get there? It seems that Will was abducted by a Demogorgon on his late-night bike ride back home from Mike's house. Inside the Upside Down, Will tried to evade the creature that kidnapped him by hiding in familiar places, like the Upside Down version of his fort, Castle Byers.
Susan: Will is the spy into the Shadow Monster's motives, but it appears like he's a double agent. As his hippocampus abnormalities grow, his own memories of people are being replaced by not only the “now memories” but he's a slave to the evil's bidding.
Will's Father Called Him “Queer”
She says, “Lonnie used to say he was queer. Called him a f*g.” When Hopper asks if Will is that, Joyce deflects to the more important matter at hand: “He's missing, is what he is.”
