Fear of being caught out: If you don't know what to say, it's easy to feel worried about being on the spot. Introverts tend to process thoughts internally, extroverts process externally. In more basic terms, by talking an extrovert processes their thoughts, where an introvert needs to stop and think about things.
While creating sentences they want to communicate, they utilize information stored in long-term memory, which is a lengthy and complex process. That can explain why introverts need more time to think about what they want to say.
Introverts tend to dread small talk. They worry that it will be boring, awkward, or that they'll run out of things to say. But in today's world, small talk is difficult to avoid. Cocktail parties, networking events, and even the line for coffee at work may require a brief exchange of pleasantries.
They are quiet so they can hear their inner “loudness.”
Introverts need to attend to their inner world throughout the day in order to process everything. Otherwise, everything will stack so much — to the point that it causes a discordant inner noise (so to speak), which can lead to the introvert being overstimulated.
Social discomfort.
However, social situations can be stressful and overwhelming for some introverts, particularly in larger, noisier groups, which can make it difficult for them to fully engage in conversations. This can lead to them withdrawing, appearing distant or uninterested in what others are saying.
Studies have found that introverts get more easily distracted than their extroverted counterparts. Because of this, they might be annoyed when someone steps into their office for a quick chat. They also get annoyed by interruptions when they speak.
What struggles have introverts had? Introverts can't usually start a conversation but they really want to have conversation. Struggle to handle situations that depends on extroverts. Introverts find it difficult to really have fun even at the crowded party.. they just need some people to enjoy with, not a party.
Angry Introverts are in a sensitive state, and they can easily become overstimulated by too much social contact. Interestingly, Introverts won't usually respond to their anger by leaving altogether.
Introverts: Those with a preference for introversion tend to think they're communicating more than they are. The quality of their communications is sound, but the quantity is lower than needed. When introverts communicate, it's typically effective, but they usually don't communicate often enough.
Introverts have to constantly wage a battle within themselves- what is socially considered right or correct, and what they actually think is right. With the amount of pressure that exists, it is more likely for an introvert to submit to socially accepted norms of behavior.
They may feel awkward or out of place in large groups. They may also find small talk to be difficult or uncomfortable. Additionally, introverts require alone time to rejuvenate their social energy and may be less interested in attending social events. This can make it challenging to meet new people and make friends.
Being an introvert doesn't necessarily mean you're socially awkward, but the two do sometimes overlap. Certainly, as in my case, the fear of feeling anxious and awkward in social settings can cause us to lean into our introversion.
Silence gives introverts space to process their thoughts and soak in their surroundings, among other benefits.
Introverts prefer quiet, minimally stimulating environments, while extroverts need higher levels of stimulation to feel their best.
They dislike small talk and would rather say nothing than something they feel is insignificant. Although introverts are quiet, they will talk incessantly if they're interested in the topic. They also dislike being interrupted when they talk, or when they're working on some project.
Weaknesses: social anxiety, shyness, navigating a predominantly extroverted world.
ISFJ. ISFJ's are quiet, conscientious, and kind.
Humility, an introvert's greatest strength
[14] Humility allows introverted leaders to innovate because they are typically more open to new ideas and suggestions. They listen better and are less likely to follow the first idea that is offered.
Introverts might feel pressure from their manager, team, or organization to do fast turn arounds when they don't feel they have collected all the necessary data. Most introverts probably prefer to reflect on issues and ideas and to take more time to consider decisions, in spite of pressure to make them quickly.
Being an introvert doesn't affect how friendly you may be. Some people may think that introverts are unfriendly because they don't tend to have large groups of friends, and they may reflect on situations quietly rather than joining in on conversations at gatherings. Introverts can't be leaders.
When an introvert doesn't like you, one of the signs is that they don't show any interest in you. They don't ask about your life or what you are going through at work. An introvert that feels ambivalent toward you or one who is very happy with you will make some effort at social niceties.
Introverts tend to prefer deep and meaningful relationships over a large social circle. Being an introvert, you know only too well how to spend time alone. But it's also important to have social interaction—it might just look a little different to someone who's an extrovert.
