This is not revealed until the end of The Lord of the Rings, as Frodo reaches the quayside to leave Middle-earth, when "Gandalf now wore openly on his hand the Third Ring, Narya the Great".
The ring came into Gandalf's possession in the Third Age after it was entrusted to him by its former wielder, Círdan. For his efforts toward quenching the evil wrought by Sauron, Gandalf was entrusted to protect Narya, one of the three Elven rings.

Elrond Half-elven is a fictional character in J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth legendarium. Both of his parents, Eärendil and Elwing, were half-elven, having both Men and Elves as ancestors.
Those three were kept by the Elves and Sauron never touched them. They were subject to the One, but they didn't have the nasty side effects of the others.
Though someone could start out with good intentions, the Ring would eventually corrupt them. And that is why Gandalf can't touch it. He is afraid that if he did, it would corrupt him and make him just as bad as Sauron since Sauron put so much of himself and his evil into the One Ring.

So Arwen is a descendant of Elrond and Aragorn is a distant descendant of Elros, who are brothers, which shows their kinship. But Arwen is Elrond's daughter, whereas Aragorn doesn't appear in the family tree for many more generations.

Elrond's ring, Vilya with its blue sapphire, was actually originally given to King Gil-galad. Soon after Elrond became Lord of Rivendell, he inherited the ring from Gil-galad. While Elrond was already a skilled magical healer, receiving this ring of power enhanced his healing abilities dramatically.
His prowess with a bow was unmatched among the Fellowship and, as J.R.R. The Ring only affects mortal beings, and because Sauron is an immortal Maia spirit, he doesn't experience the same side effect of invisibility. The “mortals are being drawn into Sauron's world. But he lives there,” so he has control over everything.
