It's true that in later episodes, Muzan also appears as a woman wearing a kimono when he's holding court over other Demons, most of whom are also wearing traditional Japanese clothing. This might have something to do with Demons (or “Oni”) themselves being part of traditional Japanese culture.
By shapeshifting into a woman and a child, Muzan can easily manipulate those around him. As is the norm, people tend to drop their guard against children and beautiful women. Moreover, if there is any danger to Muzan by appearing as a child, he will get sympathy and help from the people.

It is unclear if the curse branded to her by Muzan got lifted or not, but she can't speak a word after turning into a demon, and always has a muzzle in her mouth. As Nezuko can't speak Muzan's name out loud, she can't be affected by the curse.

Akaza was also one of Muzan's favorite demons out of all his subordinates. The reason behind this is Akaza's extreme loyalty to his master. The Upper Rank Three demon was always sent away on special missions, something the Upper Rank 1 and 2 were often denied of.

As Susamaru desperately attempts to silence her, Yushiro notes that Tamayo is using her Blood Bewitchment: Magical Aroma of Daylight ability on the Demon to get her to say Muzan's name, which she does, and Muzan's curse then suddenly begins to break out from inside her.

He wanted to be able to walk in the sunlight and live forever. In order to gain this, he needed two things: the Blue Spider Lily and the body of a demon who could withstand the sun.
Technically, the elder of the two Sakuras` was actually Muzan`s child, by way of his mistress (Lady Jade Wong), who had one of her eggs inserted into Anne`s body.
