The secret to Gyomei's powers is that they are governed, regulated and enhanced by his emotional capabilities. So in a sense, his crying is a sign of his strength rather than weakness.
He trained his mind and body with the hope that one day he could eradicate all demons. Gyomei is extremely emotional and caring and is always concerned for those around him. This could be the main reason why he is always crying in the Demon Slayer series.
The gentle giant of the group, Stone Hashira Gyōmei Himejima has a huge body and an even bigger heart. He is very sensitive, seen crying almost constantly, and soft-spoken.
He is extremely muscular and powerfully built. He has black spiky hair, and a prominent scar that runs across his forehead horizontally. He has been blind with no irises nor pupils.

The point is, without Selfess State, Gyomei can't beat Akaza. Trying Akaza. Without Selfless State and being relative of speed to Akaza means none of Gyomei's attacks can really catch him truly off guard or outspeed his reaction or perception speed so yeah.
The explosion, which was enhanced by spike traps, manages to injure Muzan. Before he is able to regenerate fully, Tamayo appears and uses her Blood Demon Art to keep him in place, while using a drug that can turn him into human. Using this opportunity, Gyomei Himejima appears and destroys Muzan's head.

Trivia. Gyomei is blind, thus explaining the reason for the lack of pupils in his eyes. He was blinded due to a fever he had when he was a child.
As such, Himejima tragically dies after fighting against Demon King Muzan as hard as he could.
Instead of a standard sword, Gyomei uses a spiked flail and axe to take out his enemies. It's a very strong and durable weapon that takes a lot of skill to use. Because Gyomei is blind, he uses the echoes of the chain to help him know the space and movements around him thanks to his acute sense of hearing.
Sanemi is clearly the least popular Hashira among Demon Slayer fans.
The warrior Muzan feared was a swordsman named Yoriichi Tsugikuni. Yoriichi was the only slayer before Tanjiro who came close to killing Muzan, and the flashback of their fight occurred in Chapter 187.

Before arriving at the Infinity Castle, the Insect Hashira consumed roughly 81 pounds of wisteria poison. Even though Doma killed her, he died just as quickly because of the sheer amount of poison he ingested after eating her.
Haruka Shiraishi: Muzan's Daughter.
Ever since he was in his mother's womb, Muzan was extremely frail and weak. The menace of death constantly haunted him: his heart stopped more than a few times when he was a developing fetus, and he was declared a stillborn upon birth due to having no pulse or breath.

His toughness, concentration, and immense strength make him an unbeatable force, and he is widely regarded as the strongest Demon Slayer in the Corps.
At the end of the day, none of the Hashira could've defeated Akaza – even though a few of them could've succeeded in decapitating him. Akaza proved himself to be too strong to be dragged into sunlight, meaning there'd be no way for any of the Hashira to kill him.
5 Speed: Tengen
Rengoku's fight in the Mugen Train arc showed his incredible speed and reflexes. He was able to match Akaza's speed, and his movements were so fast that it was almost impossible for the naked eye to keep up.
