God Of War Ragnarok: Thor's Wound Festers Because Of Jormungandr's Venom. The reason behind Thor's incurable wound is due to the Eitr imbued in the Leviathan Axe. In God of War, Kratos throws the weapon into the Lake of Nine and awakens the World Serpent, who rises out of the water.
Santa Monica Studio knew even during the first game that Kratos would eventually be going up against Thor, and would need a bit of an edge. This is why the Leviathan Axe is able to harm Thor to such a degree that he cannot heal in God of War Ragnarok.
Thor receives his wound when he faces Kratos in battle, a fight requested by Odin, who does not appreciate the Spartan rejecting his offer.

Thor then uses Mjolnir to "resurrect Kratos" and bring him back into the fight.
Why did Kratos become weak in Ragnarok? The harsh winter and the lack of real motivation for combat might be some of the reasons why this new Kratos feels a bit less powerful than the one from the Greek days — even if he's still more than capable of beating the daylights out of a god or two.
A common consensus is that training to achieve Kratos's physique would likely require a smart approach of exercises such as overhead presses, rows, pullups, and deadlifting.
1 Weakness: His Nightmares
Up until God of War III, Kratos is plagued by nightmares, which partially explains why he's so vulnerable to illusions and mind tricks. It also, of course, explains his unquenchable rage.
Why does Odin look weak in God of War: Ragnarok? The Odinforce is based there. Odin being away from Asgard and already dying was slowly weakening even more since Dark World when Loki banished him to Midgard.
It is documented that Greek gods grow stronger with age, and audiences have seen that with the sheer power and invulnerability of Old Kratos. As such, Old Kratos would win based on age.
Even though Kratos had killed most of Thor's family, Thor spared Kratos because Odin had plans for Atreus. Many Norse gods die in God of War Ragnarok, but it would be a daunting challenge to the future of the God of War series to kill its long-time lead, especially near the beginning of the game.
How Tall Is Kratos in God of War: Ragnarok? Believe it or not, we actually know exactly how tall Kratos is thanks to this oddly detailed technical breakdown video from Santa Monic Studio's Axel Grossman. Kratos is exactly six feet and four inches tall (or about 1.93 meters, if that helps) in God of War: Ragnarok.
Kratos gets his chance to use the weapon when Heimdall confronts him in Vanaheim. It's a success! Heimdall can read people's intentions, so can catch the spear every time Kratos throws it at him. But the spear can implode and regenerate, which allows Kratos to harm and ultimately kill Heimdall.
As this transpired, Thor was fighting the Destroyer on Earth, which would culminate in his death. Odin, in the Odinsleep, would shed a tear and use his magic to end Thor's banishment, giving him the power to return to Asgard to confront his brother.
He also possesses superhuman strength, speed, agility, durability and immunity to most diseases. Thor's greatest weapon, and closest ally, is Mjolnir, an enchanted hammer forged from Uru metal, which has power over storms and can generate energy blasts known as anti-force.
Zeus possesses more power than Odin, yet Kratos defeated him. Lol Thor and especially Odin are much much older than Kratos.
Thor's severe depression over the loss of Mjolnir and the loss of his worthiness can be seen as an emotional disability whose effects can be as debilitating as his physical disability (severed arm).
In God of War Ragnarök, it's likely that Kratos is around 1,055 years old.
God of War's Kratos Is Over 1000 Years Old
Based on those two dates, and assuming that Kratos is in his 30's at the time of God Of War I, then it can be estimated that Kratos age is ~1050 years old by the start of God of War (2018).
However, Kratos returns to life and reclaims his god-powers and status as the God of War before exacting revenge against Zeus, his father, and the Olympians, leaving Kratos as the only surviving Greek God of War (despite trying to commit suicide by impaling himself with the Blade of Olympus to give away the power of ...
Who is older, Zeus or Odin? Since Odin is credited with having a hand in creating the world itself, it is safe to say that he is older than Zeus. However, the first written accounts of Zeus are much earlier than the first ones we have of Odin.
It is implied that much like Zeus, he has an intense fear of Kratos. Unlike the Olympian, however, Odin's fear was tempered by his knowledge of Kratos' power, not only being aware of the fate of the Greek pantheon, but also of him having faced and killed Modi, Magni, and Baldur.
Mimir (Nordic: ᛗᛁᛗᛁᚱ), formerly known as Puck, is a Celtic fae who became Odin's advisor and the ambassador of the Aesir Gods until Odin imprisoned him for 109 years. After being freed by Kratos and Atreus, he became their ally.
Kratos is afraid of being found by others who might know of his deeds. He's afraid of how his legacy will come to affect Atreus, his son, and he's afraid that if the boy knows his history, he'll despise him. Or worse, turn out just like him.
4 Saitama Can Literally Beat Kratos With A Single Punch
Saitama does not get excited about battle anymore, and that is because he has become the strongest known being in the universe. Like Kratos, Saitama possesses inhuman strength and endurance, but unlike the God of War, he has unparalleled speed and reflexes.
