The key to enhancing cleavage during breast augmentation generally lies in careful selection of the most ideal shape/size/type of implant, as well as the location of the implant pocket — in many cases, the implant pocket can be created to bring the breasts closer together (or farther apart), thereby increasing cleavage ...
Implant placement affects your cleavage
Your implants are often closer together and give you better cleavage when they are placed over your chest muscle. However, in very thin patients, you may experience rippling and sagging.
Lateral displacement of breast implants means the breast implants have settled too far apart from each other, away from the middle of the chest. It can happen if surgeons create implant pockets that are too large or if the pockets stretch out over time.
Perfectly normal, it's the case with many women. It doesn't mean your body is abnormal or anything. We all have different shaped bodies. Some short, some tall etc.
Wear well-fitting or push-up bras to make your cleavage more pronounced, or consider silicone inserts for an extra boost. Use double-sided tape with pasties or a triangle bra to rock a deep, plunging neckline.
Directly after your procedure, you might notice that your implants are "riding high" on your chest and may look flatter than you'd hoped or slightly square in shape. These are normal occurrences caused by tight skin and muscle tissue that will gradually resolve as your implants drop and fluff over the coming weeks.
In the first week or so after your breast enhancement, your natural tissue will need time to adjust to the new size and shape of your breast implants. When the breast pocket — the area where your implants are placed — is still tight, it can push against your implants and create a boxy appearance.
Surgical Technique
The following oversights all can result in an unacceptably wide spacing between the breasts: Underdissection. Incomplete release of the lower pectoralis attachments. Failure to account for tight lower breast skin or tuberous breasts (Learn more in our related blog post.)
When can I go braless after augmentation? While it's best to provide your new breasts with as much support as possible post-surgery, it's usually safe to go braless on occasion (but not daily) from around six weeks. Most patients should wait at least 3 months before going braless on a regular basis.
If they're set too high on the chest, instead of around where the armpits are, they're probably implants. It's supposed to be easier to spot in a bathing suit, so it's not the result of a push-up bra. Real breasts are shaped more like pears — fuller at the bottom — than like melons.
Round implants are the most popular option because it gives patients excellent fullness, lift, symmetry, and cleavage. They can be filled with silicone or saline. Patients with round implants are also less likely to experience health complications or have the implant rotate or move out of position.
SURGEON PROFILE
It is important to respect the natural border of your breasts and it's not really possible to force the implants to sit closer together. Fat grafting can help fill in the inner part somewhat.
Some women experience only a slight amount of sagging while others have more extreme cases. Placing breast implants in saggy breasts can actually contribute to more sagging, with the extra weight of the implants pulling the skin further down.
One of the most common questions we get from patients is when breast implants start to look/feel normal and when the natural drop of the breasts occurs after breast implant surgery. Breast implants generally take six weeks to three months to adjust and look natural.
Compared to saline implants, they more closely mimic the look and feel of your natural breasts. Gummy bear implants are a type of silicone implant made from a form-stable, cohesive gel. Their unique filling material and teardrop shape provide the most natural-looking results of all breast implant options.
After surgery, the implants tend to ride hide and appear small due to the patient's skin tightness in the area. There is tightness because the implants increase dimension to breast tissue causing the skin to compress the implant's shape and size.
Over time, the swelling resolves, the tissues loosen up, and the shape of the implant starts to exert itself on the overlying tissues. As a result, the implants settle into a lower, more aesthetically pleasing position on the chest. They appear softer and rounder, and they look larger and closer together.
In many cases, breast implants can remain in good shape for 20 years or more. Every patient is different, and the life of your implants will depend on your body and how you take care of your implants.
While there's little you can do to speed up the drop and fluff process aside from following your cosmetic surgeon's instructions, wearing a surgical bra, being patient, and trusting the process, we recommend you take postoperative photos of your breasts every two weeks to help visualize your progress.
The plunge bra supports the bust from the centre of the cups and pushes the breasts together, creating a great cleavage under tops with a low-cut neckline.
The breasts should have a natural shape and they should not be touching.” As a general rule, the amount of cleavage that should be visible is 1 or 2 inches – 3 inches at the most.
Moderate implant profile
They are the most popular profiles and offer both volume and cleavage while appearing natural. Many patients like to choose these implants for their breast augmentation plastic surgery.
