Ten flashes: The Front Tray is not set to its correct position./The Front Tray was moved during printing. When printing from the Rear Tray, return the Front Tray to its normal printing position, make sure that paper is loaded in the Rear Tray, then press the RESUME/CANCEL button on the printer to resume printing.
Ink has run out. (The lamp on the ink tank flashes.) If printing is in progress, stop printing, replace the ink tank, and then print again. Printing under the current condition may damage the printer.
ON lamp flashes: The machine is getting ready to print, or printing is in progress. Alarm lamp flashes: An error has occurred and the machine is not ready to print. ON lamp flashes and Alarm lamp flashes alternately: An error that requires contacting the service center may have occurred.
The yellow triangle on the printer is the alarm lamp of the printer; if it is lit, it indicates that there is an item that needs to be addressed on the printer.
Make sure the main tray is loaded with paper that is free of defects ( creases, tears, etc.). This problem is related more often than when printing, the printer detects that it has no paper or a bad setting. Load the printer with plain, white paper: Raise the input tray.
To reset the PIXMA TR8620 to its factory default settings, follow these steps. With the printer powered on, select Setup . Select Device settings . Scroll to the bottom of the menu list and select Reset settings.

The following ink cartridge cannot be recognized as a genuine Canon cartridge: Make sure that genuine Canon cartridges are all installed. To continue printing, install a genuine Canon cartridge.
Thirteen flashes: The ink level cannot be detected. Possible Solution: Replace the ink tank and close the top cover.
Ink has run out. Replace the ink cartridge and close the cover. If printing is in progress and you want to continue printing, press the RESUME/CANCEL button for at least 5 seconds with the ink cartridge installed.
Check to make sure there are no paper jams or other obstructions. Unplug the printer for approximately two minutes, then plug it back in.
Four flashes: The ink tank is not installed./Ink tank is not installed properly./Ink may have run out.
You will need to hold the COLOR button (or black button) AND the STOP button for 5-8 seconds to reset the ink level monitor/counter feature. NOTE 2: Following printer reset the ink low indicator may remain illuminated (steady, but not flashing) and you should still be able to print.
Restart your computer – this often will recover any lost connections with wireless devices. Power off and on the printer, and even the access point or wireless router your printer connects to. Check your printer configuration – you may not be assigned to the correct port for the printer.

Your printer may not be responding because you're using a wrong printer driver or it's out of date. To see if that's the case for you, you should update your Canon printer driver.
