Cats or kittens playing with your hands teaches them that biting and scratching is an acceptable behavior. Soon enough, they will begin to associate your appendages as something to be attacked, which can then occur more frequently and violently if not curbed.
Kittens also learn acceptable play from humans: if people use their hands and feet instead of toys to play with a young kitten, the kitten may learn that hands and feet are play objects—which is cute when they're kittens, but painful when they're adults. Consistency is key.
NEVER use your fingers or toes to play with the kitten. What might be cute at 10 weeks is painful at 10 months! Responding to a kitten's forceful rough play with force is inappropriate and must be avoided. Never hit, swat at, or scruff your kitten as this may inadvertently injure your kitten.
Avoid objects that are so small that they could be ingested and cause intestinal blockage. Some kittens like to play with objects like string or yarn. If these items are accidentally swallowed, they can cause severe intestinal damage, and you should only allow your kitten to play with them under supervision.

Smell Transfer
Cats recognize each other (and us) by scent. Raising the butt is your cat's way of getting their anal glands closer to your nose so you can get a whiff of their pheromones.
Resist the urge to reach out to pet or pick her up. This will scare her, which will only cause her to run and hide. Once she begins eating in your presence, gradually move the food bowl near to where you're sitting (whether it be on the floor or in a chair). Continue to move the bowl closer and closer to you.
A frightened kitten will probably resist being picked up by a stranger, so start by picking them up in a gentle, calm and supportive way. Consider using a towel or light blanket to assist if needed. Reassure your kitten by speaking softly to them and calmly stroking their fur until they relax.
