Upon returning to Vought,
Homelander killed Noir after finding out that The Seven member that he trusted the most was aware that he had a father out there who was alive.
Eventually, Black Noir went insane due to not being able to complete the mission, and being forced to reside and interact with his target.
Nathan Mitchell is set to reprise the role of Black Noir in season 4. After the death of Black Noir in season 3, the actor Nathan Mitchell is set to appear in The Boys season 4 but in a more diverging direction than the predecessor.
Black Noir died at the end of The Boys season 3, yet there is a way the character could return for The Boys season 4 while also paying off a comic book twist. After two seasons of Black Noir playing a very limited role, The Boys season 3 saw the mysterious silent assassin at the center of the story.
Homelander Kills Noir
It's a sad and shocking way to see this silent yet relatively good (in Boys/Payback terms anyway) character go. And he exhibits no remorse for it at all. He even goes on to admit what he did in front of Ashley, A-Train, and the Deep before essentially disowning them too.
Noir lost his ability to think properly and speak after Soldier Boy violently beat part of his brain in and stuck his face on top of a burning car. This left Noir horrifically disfigured, rendering him with the same mental age as a 7 year old child.
History. Black Noir was a direct clone of Homelander, created by Vought as a fail-safe to kill Homelander if he ever overstepped his bounds. However, years passed and Black Noir was unable to fulfil the one purpose he was created for as Homelander was implied to have been a generally good person.
Showrunner Eric Kripke has referred to a "replacement" version of the character. Just like the earlier iteration of Black Noir, this replacement will be portrayed by Nathan Mitchell.
Could Black Noir Regenerate? The first way Black Noir could return is through his regeneration abilities. We have seen his character survive numerous fatal attempts on his life. The fact he survived getting his skull bashed open by Soldier Boy speaks to the supe's resilience.
However, viewers will likely wonder why Black Noir's healing powers have not helped him recover from these injuries. He has healed from a variety of severe injuries throughout the duration of The Boys, but Black Noir's scars are too severe for even him to overcome.
During Payback's fight against Soldier Boy, Black Noir received catastrophic brain injuries that left him both unable to verbally communicate and saddled with bizarre hallucinations of cartoon animals.
In both the comic and TV series, Noir is a member of the hedonistic and reckless Vought-American superhero group the Seven and is depicted as a "silent ninja" type parody of Batman, Snake Eyes and Deathstroke.
Unlike his comic book counterpart who was framed by the comic book Black Noir for many of his crimes and driven crazy, this Homelander is evil of his own volition; as he willingly murders people in order to satiate his bloodlust and being the person who raped Billy's wife, while the TV series Black Noir had nothing to ...
Maeve was eventually killed while protecting Starlight from Homelander and Black Noir, though Homelander easily overpowered her after she struck him on the head with her sword, shattering it in the process. He then flung her decapitated head at Starlight as she flew away from The Seven's headquarters.
The grand finale of The Boys comic book series confirms that there is only one hero who is actually stronger than Homelander, and that's his (even more) evil clone, Black Noir.
Later in the season, he is seen crying as he finds out about the compound V news, which hints that he might have had a good relationship with his parents and guardians, and is now disheartened thinking that they probably used him. The member of the seven is now seemed to be going on a persona mission.
Black Noir was a young man who wanted to make a cultural impact by removing his mask to reveal that he was a Black male underneath his body armor. He believed doing so would allow him to reach out to more minorities and allow him some fame and recognition without having to wear the mask.
Then, in a scene so unbelievably graphic that it could only be shown on television in cartoon form, Soldier Boy raises his signature shield and smashes it, over and over again, into the face of the prone Black Noir. This attack is what left Black Noir unable to speak and permanently scarred.
While Homelander always relied solely on his powers to win battles, Black Noir has all the same abilities plus actual combat training. Noir also seems even more mentally unstable than Homelander, which would likely translate to him being even more brutal in a fight.
Even though Soldier Boy could not take down Homelander with the help of Hughie and Butcher (Karl Urban) using temporary doses of Compound V, it was abundantly clear that he is still the closest anyone has been to the individual strength of Homelander.
staring blankly and saying nothing. Which Homelander really, really appreciates. But Black Noir, a former member of Soldier Boy's squad, knows he's in trouble… so he grabs a knife, digs into his arm, rips out his tracking chip, and bails.
As far as everyone in The Boys is concerned, Black Noir came out of his vegetative state to make a full recovery during the year-long gap between The Boys seasons 2 and 3.
In the "What I Know" arc, Butcher is revealed to have killed Soldier Boy with a public funeral being held for him and members of the Seven (including the Homelander) serving as his pallbearers.
In “Herogasm,” the show already unveiled that Black Noir betrayed Soldier Boy and sold him to the Russians.
