McGonagall didn't join the
She remained at Hogwarts after Lord Voldemort took over and appointed Severus Snape as the acting Headmaster. With the Battle of Hogwarts approaching, McGonagall put the safety of her students first, evacuating the younger students and using the help of fellow Order of the Phoenix members to fortify the castle.
That film also features a flashback to the 1910s that also features McGonagall as an adult teaching at Hogwarts. Events have moved forward into the 1930s in The Secrets of Dumbledore, but McGonagall is still depicted as an adult woman despite not having been born in the lore of Harry Potter.
Professor McGonagall gets stunned
Umbridge insists that her last Auror continue to fight, but his reluctance allows Hagrid to escape. Umbridge sends one final stunning spell at Hagrid, but misses. McGonagall, who suffers severe injuries, is sent to St.
As Snape counters one of her spells, in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment (and we definitely missed it), he appears to deflect it onto two of the Death Eaters behind him – Alecto and Amycus Carrow – before fleeing the castle.
Later in the year, McGonagall duelled with Death Eater Alecto Carrow during the Battle in the Astronomy Tower and later learned of Snape's murder of Dumbledore. McGonagall was initially appointed as Headmistress, but was demoted after Voldemort took control of the school and placed Snape as Headmaster.
Sure McGonagle is more trustworthy in the traditional sense when it comes to her job but Snape was more trustworthy to be triple agent. Snape was more inscrutable. He had the dirt on Snape (he could dangle his feelings towards Lily to get him to agree to anything). Snape could play a double agent more convincingly.
The Deathly Hallows Part I begins with a whole bunch of double-crossing and betrayals. Snape betrays the Order of the Phoenix. A guy from the Ministry of Magic becomes a Death Eater, which is probably how the Ministry ends up falling. And that's just the beginning of the movie.
McGonagall followed up Harry's action by using the Imperius Curse on Amycus before tying him up with a net, rendering him useless during the Battle of Hogwarts.
It is revealed that The Order of the Phoenix was betrayed by Kreacher, Sirius Black's house elf, when Sirius, in a fit of anger, gave Kreacher an order that permitted him to speak to Sirius' cousin, Narcissa Malfoy.
Weaknesses. McGonagall is never portrayed as having any particular weaknesses. Her stern facade likely prevents anyone from getting close to her emotionally, with the possible exception of Dumbledore. We are led to believe that she prefers her solitude.
The confusion for audience members who have only watched the movies lies in Filch's dialect; although “ma'am” rhymes with “ham” in Standard American English, in some dialects of British English is rhymes with “farm.” Furthermore in some dialects of British English “r”s are deleted, so that pronouncing “ma'am” to sound ...
Harry watched Hagrid getting redder and redder in the face as he called for more wine, finally kissing Professor McGonagall on the cheek, who, to Harry's amazement, giggled and blushed, her top hat lop-sided.
Verdict: Snape Is the Stronger Wizard
McGonagall is surprisingly skilled in the Dark Arts but not on the same level as Snape. She's also most likely incapable of casting the Killing Curse, which puts her at a disadvantage.
Professor McGonagall considered Harry to be lucky not to have been expelled for such an act, and she full-heartedly supported the detentions, while Pansy Parkinson wasted no time in vilifying Harry. Harry Potter was punished if you would read the book.
Why didn t the Death Eaters use Avada Kedavra all the time? Firstly according to the fake Moody Avada Kedavra (AK) requires a powerful magic. Therefore using it repeatedly would be magically - and perhaps even physically - very draining. Secondly Death Eaters don't always want/need to kill their targets.
In Deathly Hallows, Hermione faced a real test of her physical and psychological stamina. After being on the run from a bunch of Snatchers, the gang were taken to Malfoy Manor, where Bellatrix proceeded to torture Hermione using the Cruciatus Curse.
Cruciatus Curse ('Crucio')
Harry tried to use this spell himself. The first time was against Bellatrix after she had killed Sirius. His attempt was unsuccessful because, as Bellatrix mockingly explained: 'You need to really want to cause pain – to enjoy it – righteous anger won't hurt me for long…'
Peter Pettigrew Selling Out His Best Friend
This betrayal had the biggest damage in the series as it made Harry an orphan, sealed Sirius in Azkaban for twelve years, and led to all the deaths shown in the future when the Wizarding War resumed.
Hedwig's killer is not explicitly identified, so he/she may have appeared in other books, films or video games, but the only known appearance is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1. A popular fan theory based on book canon suggests that Snape may have killed Hedwig.
The seven Potters are Harry himself, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Fred Weasley, George Weasley, Fleur Delacour, and Mundungus Fletcher.
The reason, again, lies in Voldemort's arrogant confidence in his abilities as a Legilimens. He doesn't trust Snape as Dumbledore does, but he believes that he can detect any disloyalty.
First, he needed to clear Hagrid's name when he turned out to be innocent of opening the Chamber of Secrets. Dumbledore wanted people (mainly the parents of students) to trust Hagrid again. The second reason is that Hagrid does possess the required knowledge.
Because Minerva was his friend and they were fighting on the same side (even though she didn't know). So, even when Minerva was duelling to kill, he wasn't, and if he had kept on fighting he might have been forced to hurt her. He deflected every attack quite easily, even when Flitwick joined the fight.
