Clarence House and then-Prime Minister Liz Truss confirmed shortly after the death of Queen Elizabeth that Charles would go by the name King Charles III.
Charles will not be changing his name, as was previously speculated. He will be known as King Charles III. Charles was nine when he was given the title the Prince of Wales.

A change in the Church of England's rules about remarriage after divorce, which took effect in 2002, made it possible for Charles to marry Camilla.
It was reported last week that if Camilla outlives King Charles she will officially be known as Queen Dowager. You can imagine this news being greeted with a stiff gin and cry of “long live the King” at Clarence House, where Camilla, 75, and Charles, 74, currently live.
