Numerous studies point to brunette hair being more attractive. Take this 2011 study from dating app Badoo, for example. A couple of thousand UK men were polled and 33.1% of them revealed they found brunettes more attractive than blondes.
According to a survey of 1,000 men, 54 percent would prefer a brunette as their wife, 16 percent prefer a blond, and 30 percent have no preference. Apparently, redheads were left out of this survey, but don't fret you fiery-maned ladies—it's probably best to be left out of this nonsense.
Longer and lighter hair is the most attractive hair colour on Caucasian women, a study has found. Both lighter brown hair and lighter blonde hair are seen as more attractive than darker or black hair. Lighter hair increases men's ratings for youth, health and attractiveness in a woman.
Most women think brunette hair is the sexiest, as 25% of those polled favoured this option. Womens' second preference is blonde, which was voted as the sexiest hair colour by 19.6% of women. Again, red took third spot, accounting for 11.8% of womens' votes.
Brunette was clearly the hair color perceived as most attractive, with blonde as the second most attractive, and red as the least attractive. Figure 1 summarizes these results.
But, according to a study, it seems gentlemen still prefer blondes. Researchers found that men judge women with blonde hair to be 'significantly' younger and healthier-looking than brunettes. And, falling to prey to old stereotypes, they also judged blonde women to be more promiscuous.
People with brunette hair are the most attractive.
By presenting pictures of the same woman with different dye hair colors, the researchers found that out of the population analyzed, 67 percent of men preferred the woman with brunette hair and 71 percent of women chose the man with brunette hair.
The data shows that 61% of men think that brown-haired chickas are "wife material" since they are most likely to have ideal wifey qualities, such as loyalty and integrity, and only 14% of dudes believe the same to be true of blondes.
Studies reveal that red is the most attractive colour to both men and women but, curiously, the two genders are attracted to the same colour for different reasons.
Men prefer a woman who can stay calm and relaxed. Beauty is more than make-up and a fancy haircut. Men find women more attractive when they are neat and clean. Men find women who smell nice, who have clean hair and hydrated skin more attractive than a face perfectly covered in makeup.
Blondes had an average IQ of 103.2, compared to 102.7 for those with brown hair, 101.2 for those with red hair and 100.5 for those with black hair. They were slightly more likely to be in the highest category, and slightly less likely to be in the lowest.
A general observation across experiments was that straight hair was perceived as younger, healthier, and more attractive than wavy hair and darker shades (medium copper and brown) were perceived more positively than blonde hair.
We found that green is the most popular lens colour, with brown coming in a close second, despite it being one of the most common eye colours. Although blue and hazel are seen as the most attractive eye colours for men and women they are surprisingly the least popular.
Dr. Piotr Sorokowski set up an experimental study exploring male hair color preference. The results of his research showed males did, generally, rate pictures of blonde hair as “more youthful,” and also maintained a preference for these women with regard to overall attractiveness.
Lots of gentlemen still prefer blondes — and scientists with too much time on their hands have discovered why: They're in relatively short supply. Natural blondes, as opposed to the legions of “bottle blondes'' who use dye, need 200 genes to create the color, the Sunday Times of London reports.
An academic study has found that women with fair hair are more aggressive and confident than brunettes or redheads. This is because blondes attract more attention than other women as they are generally viewed by men as more attractive and so are used to getting their own way, the researchers claim.
So, eyes are definitely an asset to consider. Lipstick and lip gloss were made for a reason, you know. Guys do like to look at women's lips, especially if they look thick and youthful. Acne is never sexy, ladies.
Eye contact is one big indicator, as well as frequent smiles and laughter. An open posture and facial expression are also signals of attraction. Acting fidgety or nervous, or blushing and getting sweaty palms, is also a sign that someone is attracted to you.
Caramel, honey, gold, copper, and strawberry give a healthy brightness that makes us look and feel younger. (Framing your face with lighter shades draws the eye away from any complexion concerns, as well.)
Loose waves are more younger-looking, while straight hair can be aging. Play around with face-framing layers to give your hair some softness and movement. Layers can also make your hair appear to be more luscious and healthy. Parra recommends asking your stylist for perimeter layers that are cut in a straight line.
A recent survey conducted by CyberPulse, a division of Impulse Research Corporation in Los Angeles uncovered this colorful research. Intelligence was the number one trait associated with brown, the most common eye color in the U.S., by 34 percent of respondents.
