There can be a number of reasons why your text message didn't get delivered. From recipients blocking your phone number to technical issues, there is not much in your hand as a sender.
Some of the most common delivery failures happen because the number is invalid, the recipient opted out of messages, there were network problems with the recipient's carrier, or your message contained content that carriers frequently block.
Steps to follow when Android is not receiving text messages:
Clear the cache from your text app. Make sure your SIM card is inserted properly. Ensure your phone is not in Airplane Mode. Confirm that your carrier supports SMS and MMS messaging.
A double gray checkmark means the message was sent to the person's phone. Two blue checkmarks confirm the message was read. If the person glances over your messages from the WhatsApp home without opening the thread, you won't see a blue checkmark in the conversation.
If you can't send a text message to one person on your Android device, their number may have been blocked.
When you Ignore a chat thread, even though you will receive all the messages, the Messenger will mark them as Sent only and not Delivered. You will see a hollow blue circle with a checkmark inside to indicate Sent, and a filled-in blue circle shows it as Delivered.
"Delivered" is a good sign. It means that the text is ready and waiting for them to open it. The service provider has now received confirmation that the message has been delivered to the recipient's phone.
"Sent As Text Message" means your device was delivered as a regular SMS text. To turn off SMS messages, go to "Settings" → "Messages" → toggle off "Send as SMS". When messages are sent as SMS, this could be due to lack of Wi-Fi connection, messaging a non-iOS device, or in some cases, being blocked.
Sent: The mobile device has sent the SMS to the SMSC (Short message service center). And the SMSC has confirmed it has received the SMS. Delivered: The mobile device has received a SMS-DELIVER (Delivery Notification). Although delivered is a relative term in the SMS world.
There are several reasons for this: The person that you sent the message to doesn't have an Apple device. iMessage is turned off on your device or on your recipient's device. To check if iMessage is turned on for your device, go to Settings > Messages > iMessage.
“The last message that you know was received and responded to…should have a 'delivered' status,” Lavelle explains. If, under the messages you've sent after that, you don't see that “delivered” notification, that could mean that person has blocked you.
Actually, iMessage not saying “Delivered” simply means the messages have not yet been successfully delivered to the recipient's device due to some reasons. Reasons could be: WiFi not working on iPhone/iPad or the iDevice don't have cellular data networks, they have their iPhone off or on Do Not Disturb mode, etc.
If the iMessage never shows a “Delivered” or “Read” message, and it's still blue, then you may have been blocked – but not always. If the iMessage goes through and shows a “Read” receipt, then you have definitely not been blocked.
As the “sent as a text message” message states, the message has been sent. However, if a “Not Delivered” message displays beneath it, this could point to an issue with them receiving it. Either their phone is switched off, or they have no connectivity. After a while, try resending the message.
If the messaging service you're using shows you when a recipient reads your message, use that to gauge whether you're being ignored. A lack of response indicates that they likely aren't interested in a message conversation.

Check if the Contact Is Blocked
Just like on WhatsApp and Telegram, you can block contacts in the Messages app. But that is the reason stopping you from sending the iMessage to your contact. Here's how you can check if you've blocked the contact.
If you haven't been blocked, the status will read "Delivered." And if the person has enabled read receipts, it will later turn to "Read" once they open the message. A red flag that you've been blocked is when you don't see the delivery status or the read receipt at all.
If you see green bubbles, this means that your text messages are being sent through SMS, and they might have blocked you on iMessage. For example, if you send me a message and I receive it with a green bubble, this means that the message was sent through SMS rather than iMessage.
If your iPhone messages are green, it means they're being sent as SMS texts rather than iMessages. You'll always see green when texting Android users, or when you're not connected to the internet.
Blocked text messages disappear
When someone that you've blocked texts you, their texts go nowhere. They won't receive any notification that they're blocked, and their messages will still look like they've been sent. But you won't receive any of them, and you can't respond.
Delivered on an Android text typically means that the message has been sent successfully to the recipient's device. To make sure your messages are delivered, be sure you have a strong network connection and that all of the contact information is correct.
