According to Airbnb, hidden security cameras are not permitted, especially if they are intentionally concealed, but they are allowed if you follow the platform's policies on location and how to disclose them. For example, cameras are not permitted in private spaces such as sleeping areas and bathrooms.
Airbnb prohibits security cameras or recording devices that are in or that observe private spaces like bedrooms, bathrooms, or sleeping areas. You must indicate the presence of all security cameras or other recording devices in or around a listing, even if they're not turned on or hooked up.
Look around you
“With cameras you should look for tiny holes, which is where the lens will be,” says Roberts. “Check common items: the back end of books, mirrors, light bulbs, house plants. Look in logical places; if someone was looking for information, they'd put a device in the lounge.
It's worth noting that, according to Airbnb's policy, cameras are only allowed in common areas, such as living rooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces, they are not allowed in bedrooms, bathrooms, or private outdoor spaces without proper disclosure and consent.
In most hotels (even very small ones), security cameras are a normal fixture in common areas.
Turn off the lights and slowly scan the room with a flashlight or laser pointer, looking for bright reflections. Scan the room from multiple spots so you don't miss a camera pointed only at certain places.
To help provide Hosts and guests with peace of mind, security measures like security cameras and noise monitoring devices are allowed, as long as they are clearly disclosed in the listing description and don't infringe on another person's privacy.

Indoor cameras in Airbnb accommodations
Nearly one in three Airbnbs with cameras record guests while they are inside of the residence. These cameras film guests while they are dining or watching television in the living room, for example. In addition, some Airbnbs contain multiple cameras (36.5%).
Use an RF detector
All wireless devices give off a radio frequency (RF)—it's what allows Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to exist. An RF detector can hone in on devices emitting these RF signals, showing you where they are located in an Airbnb. RF detectors are small handheld devices that can also be purchased on Amazon.
Detecting Smoke or Vape in Airbnb
A host can detect if you've smoked in an Airbnb. But a host will have no idea if you've vaped in an Airbnb provided they do not see your residual vape or device. Don't smoke in a non-smoking Airbnb or you will face enforcement action from Airbnb.
Before you book, a Host will only be shown your first name and identity verification status. Your full name and profile photo will be shared with the Host after your booking is confirmed.

Where a listing is advertised as party or event friendly, we may suspend the listing until the violating content is removed. We may also ask the Host to update their listing to include an explicit rule stating that parties and events are not allowed.

We may review, scan, or analyze your messages on Airbnb, as we describe in our Privacy Policy. We do this for a number of reasons, including: Identifying risks to our users.
You're more than welcome to contact a Host at any time. Sometimes, you'll have to—other times, it's simply a good idea.
That being said, they could also ban your account for the following three reasons: Multiple account or listing suspensions. Are in the bottom 1% of overall ratings by guests (Airbnb will give you a chance to improve) You've infringed on Airbnb's Terms of Service.
These situations include: Valid reasons beyond the Host's control, such as emergency repairs (like a gas leak or a burst pipe) or serious personal illness that prevents hosting. Proof that a guest intends to break house rules, have an unauthorized party, or otherwise violate our Party and Events Policy.
It's up to you, as the Host, to decide if you can accommodate any extra people. If guests show up with extra people, you have the right to turn them away.
Parties and Events
Disruptive gatherings are prohibited, regardless of size. Disturbances to the surrounding community such as: Excessive noise. Excessive visitors.
